May 2012 Grocery Challenge

My May budget is reduced this time as I will be away until the 5th so I only need £75.00 .I am also very much into 'fiscal fasting ' and try to only shop once a week.It works brilliantly as when you do go shopping you make sure you have enough fresh stuff to last a week. Its amazing how much I have cut back on by simply not daily shopping or 'browsing'0

Please put me down for £200 for 4 weeks to include diesel.
Im using up all freezer stuff we have in and intend to buy all meat/poultry/fish etc from Ocado using a £20 off voucher code to buy enough for the 4 weeks and probably having 4 x free meals such as egg and chips.
Thanks
PP
xxTo repeat what others have said, requires education, to challenge it,requires brains!FEB GC/DIESEL £200/4 WEEKS0 -
This is my first time doing this challenge, I'm moving from a shared house to my own house, which means I will have to get everything restocked so probably not a normal month, but i have to be really careful to ofset the increase in rent. My family is 2 adults, a 3 month old baby boy and 2 cats.
I think I will go for £250 for everything in May I know I spend much more than this normally so the closer I get to the target the better off I will be. It's going to be very interesting, good luck!:ANeeding to save all the money, lots of MSE learning still to do

Managed to go to W*rose today and only bought reduced potatoes and bananas, so a lovely small spend of £2.51. Very pleased with myself for doing that as before I would just have wandered round filling a trolley.
Tonight we are having bulgar with spring greens and halloumi.Debt free and saving :j0 -
OK, another lapsed GC-er here. Have been too busy to follow the thread and as a result I went £50 over in March and then £40 over in April (so far!). Determined to get back on the wagon and under budget. So despite following the calendar month, I'm starting here and setting my May budget back at £200. Mantra for May... MUST DO BETTER!0

I'm going to go for £100 in May, I have tons of pasta, rice, lentils, tinned tomatoes, cheese etc etc etc......and have got to get my silly spending under control!0

I've been waiting to join this thread this month if that's ok. Really need to keep our grocery costs down as they spiral out of control these days. We had it under control at one point and were doing well but took our eye of the spending and goodness only know how much we're spending at the moment.
I'm aiming for £200 for 2 adults plus one toddler for the month. My month runs from 25/4/12 to 24/5/12, so starts tomorrow - and we hardly have any fresh food in the house at the moment, so will need to stock up this week.

Carmilla - We are all here to support each other and pick up some great tips along the way, you'll enjoy it :T
Glad I'm not the only lapsee!
Could I ask you all about Stardrops? I've never bought it before but keep reading about how good it is. If I buy a concentrated bottle can I put a small amount in a spray bottle and water it down? How much can I water it down?
Also someone on another thread mentioned using vinegar as a dishwasher cleaner. But I'm not sure if I just tip the bottle in the machine and put it on hot, or doI need to do something else?
Thanks for your replies.
My challenge starts tomorrow, pay day (and my birthday )
