    Morning
I spent £38.74 yesterday, needed quite a few things so not to bad a spend. Up to £258.14 so far from £400 budget and will be spending again today as I will go to Lidl for the weekend offers.
Florenceem, after reading your posts the last week or so I no longer put my cooker on unless it is full. I used to always bake on a morning for some reason. Now I wait until dinner time. Thankyou for the tip. :)
Well done to EWO + Happy chick

    Morning

I'm afraid May is running away with me as well...
I think I did a bit too much stocking up at the beginning of the month. But I reckon if I'm careful I won't go too far over:rotfl:

There are some lovely pictures of food being posted - I'll be trying some of the breads despite being a bit wary of producing lots of baking/pastry because I worry about eating too much!

I stopped baking because when following Sl*mming W*orld etc pastry doesn't fit well into their plans (I've finally decided I can't afford SW anymore). So I've started making quiches again because now my focus is more on the £££ as well as on the lbs! The key is for me not to eat more than a reasonable portion and then not eat 1/4 of a quiche as a bedtime snack:(. These foods are only 'dangerous' if I let them be!

Anyway, total is now £344.45/£400. I'm planning a very small shop for Tues from A*da (£25) leaving about £30 for everything else. I'll plan to the end of the month today and we'll see how it goes!

    Have a good weekend!
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.

How about making crust-less quiches? All the protein and veggie filling but just leave out the pastry.

Works very well with silicone bakeware or just line the tin......I tend to do them in silicone muffin pan......they slip out easily, freeze well and you can portion them out easily.

Morning all, grotty day again today. However i did spend a few minutes at the kitchen window. The garden looked very green and peaceful in the rain, the birds seemed happy & we have a lovely view of fields beyond the garden fence.
I'm feeling a bit sad today, just waved eldest son off, he is going away with his uncle for a few days, it gave me an insight into how i may feel in september when he goes off to uni.
Anyhow, off to aldi this evening for a small spend. I want to to stock up on passatta, the supersix and to try one of aldis free range chickens.
I made a fab vegetable lasagna last night. I had a courgette to use up, i sliced that along with two peppers, a large red onion and some mushrooms. I added two garlic cloves, mixed herbs, salt & pepper. Roasted it for 1/2 hour, then added a squirt of tomato puree & a stock cube. Roasted another 10 mins and added a tub of passata. I then layered with lasagna sheets as normal added a cheese sauce and baked, it was absolutley lovely. Enough left for 5 meals for the freezer. Enjoy your day all.

    Hi all,
This month I have been truly good thanks to you all but I have failed to stay within budget, however, I have spent about half of what I spent last month. Today is the last day before my payday so I am declaring now....

    £358.51/£300
    NSD 6/10

I will go for the same budget next month and hope with inceased NSD's and a little more "eating what we have in" will keep me within budget.

Thanks to you all for your wonderfully witty inspiration! Loving being part of this thread :T
EWO if you have halved your spenD in one month you are doing brill! My first month was jan i set my GC at (dont laugh) £750 and struggled  since then £600 cos that fits well with our income at the mo (and includes eating out and household goods such as replacing toaster) surplus goes into xmas fund. Last month was the first proper xmas fund injection.

£13.44 added to spends at Lidl. That was on mince, flour, carrots.

1 bag of carrots already gone to the horses when we went for a walk in the rain. Very muddy and cold now. :( Wish it would stop raining.
