    I feel so ashamed. :o

We went to the geological field trip and met up with a huuuuuuge amount of families. Some old acquaintances, some new faces. Well, we met up with dear old friends that have driven down and stayed in accommodation. As we rarely see them (they live 4 hours from us) we wanted to share a meal with them. We asked them to come back after for a curry (my lovely rajmah) but the travelodge was in a completely different direction. They suggested going for a meal locally instead:eek: OH gave me the puppy dog eyes.
I was a bit too ashamed to admit that the meal we purchased was actually nearly the cost of a weeks grocery spend.
The only justification is that we only see them about 3 times a year. :(

I can't believe we have just blown over £20 on a meal when we have one in the fridge ready to reheat and serve!!!! To add insult to injury, I caught OH sneaking hot drinks at the visitor's cafe whilst on the field trip:eek:
I took 2 bottles of ready diluted cordial with us, along with our dinner so no justification for it at all.

It is such a battle when you are the only one who has self restraint in the family.

    Aaargh.

Hey, come on JJ  You wouldn't have had the £20 if you hadn't been so good at MS :) Like the ad says 'You're worth it!' Hope it was a lovely meal and you enjoyed your day out with your friends.

jumblejack, I scrimp so that we can afford the odd nice meal out.

Another trip to MrA this morning to spend £1.50/kg roll back icing sugar and basic chocolate (which MrS appears to have discontinued) to make a cake in my lovely new Darth Vador tin.

Oh dear - £20 - I think I would be crying! But - I am going away in July for a weekend with a craft friend - I will fess up how much I spent when I get home! Well - I will fess up food wise - don't think I could bear to add up what I spend on craft goodies!

So, just added up my total and I've got just over £50 to spend until 31st May. I've been really good by mainly going to A1di, L1dl and Mr T for the stuff I can't get in the other 2 and I've got plenty in so am going to try really hard not to go over budget this month. Having said that, I need to stock up on toilet rolls so need to find a good bargain there - anyone got any suggestions? Think I missed the last offer on at Lid1.

Have a good weekend everyone. :)

I spent £9.06 in local shop again today. DS had a friend home after school and I was worried about doing HM.

Actually managed an NSD for the first time I can ever remember!!! Even popping into the co-op after work didn't sway me! I pop in to have a look at the offers and usually leave with £10 worth of stuff.

Still collecting receipts until the end of the month and will put together a spreadsheet and start working out where my cash goes this wkd.

Thanks to everyone for the positive messages on here every day!

Evening all, just popped on to update my signature. Already gone over and have 2 weeks shopping to get. Have lots of meat and basics , just need milk and fresh veg. Will try to keep it down as much as possible. I'm a bit fed up about it but if I think back to what we were spending this time last year, it's much better.:)
    Have a good evening all.

Eventually went to MrT. We were very good, lack of YS to tempt us too. OH decided he needed hair gel but it's gone down in price and 3for2 so was £1.60. Better than the tenner a pot stuff when we first met ;)
I doubled all my tesco vouchers to stock up on baby stuff, we now have around 500 nappies, few more bottles of bubble bath etc :) Also had a couple for money off nappies and extra points for bananas (which we always buy)" so our £94 shop was £12! With a petrol coupon as we "spent" over £50. And a voucher for £7 off the next £50 spend. Will do our big shop next week so perfect! Very happy :)

    Goodnight all

Thank goodness I bought flour today! :D
Mr F came home from town with a bag of apricots so I made crumbles. My oven was full again.
