Claims firms will happily go all the way to getting you a CCJ if you don't pay which will kill your credit for 6 years so yeah you might want to do thatSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I am about to write them to offer to do that but I'm worried they won't accept it, however that is all I can do now is pay it up! Can they still take me to court even if I offer to pay the amount off monthly?
I honestly will NEVER use a company like that again lesson learned. I wish I had taken the time to do my homework and not rely on a claims company. Hopefully others will read this BEFORE they do the same!0 -

I thought it was better to have a written record and I'm not that confident on the phone to be honest.0

You can write to them (get free proof of postage, don't send signed for) and offer but they are allowed to decline part payment offers and payment plans especially given you have had the refund and knew about the charges already - I am assuming you didn't get the PPI refund and spend it all immediately here

I was being facetious about the fact the money for the fee should have been put asideSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

Yes I probably should have however I didn't know then what I know now and I just wanted to clear some of the debt that has been hanging round my neck for a long time. Yes I am aware I still have debt only now to a company that are ruthless in their pursuit of their extortionate fees! Lesson learned no need for you to be facetious unless you like to be in which case feel free and I see from reading this thread there is a lot of that.
I am just someone who has been crap with money and am now trying to redress the balance which is why I am on this forum to learn from wiser hopefully decent people ..... big learning curve!0 -
