I'm not condemning MSE and Which? profiting from the PPI scandal at all,....I think it is a great business model0 -
C`mon people, surely you cannot believe all this hype by the banks on this forum trying to get rid of claims companies wh are the only ones that will challege the laws set by the banks themselves. It now seems artin Lewis has also now jumped intio bed with them. Here are just a few quotes by himself from the MSE website:
"The site is a very substantial part of my income; and I make a very good living" and "The site's strong finances means I'm in the outrageously luxurious position" what a joke - he is almost bragging about his income> whilst i agree this site is good for financial news you have got to remember nobody does anything for "free" MSE just does it in another way.Not all CMC`s are the same....:A0 -

True.
The site's profits are thanks to affiliate payments, which can be £100 or more on the sale of financial products. The rival website to Mr Lewis's site is moneysupermarket.com and is capitalised at £280 million and according to Alexa has lower traffic.
It's all about the traffic.
Brilliant idea to promote a free PPI reclaim service - just think of the traffic - ka-ching!
Don't be fooled it's anything else. BTW the banks can't lose on this one as they are sure to a get a spike in sales from affiliate products. Its a win-win!0 -

MSE is a business, yes. So Martin makes money from it, so what? There are many on here who give advice for free.
You seem to have the delusion CMC's are here for the 'good of the public'. They aren't interested in genuinely helping anyone, they are only interested in making a quick quid from people. So which CMC do you work for or haven't you got the kahuna's to admit it? Do you know a fellow user ppidisgrace? You seem to have a lot in common....Shirley

How is a quote comparison site comparable with this one/
It looks like the dodgy ambulance chasers are taking issue with MSE. Not that most of us care as we can just laugh at them.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
So MSE makes money, at least it doesn't rip off the public with a dodgy 'claims management service'. Come on, have the courage to admit which CMC you work for, no?, I didn't think you'd have the balls to. Cowards.Shirley
