    I use Lactofree semi-skimmed milk which is 1.26 in Waitrose (offer), 1.21 in Sainsburys 1.29 in ASDA 1.49 Budgens (actual store prices not mysupermarket). Some of these soya milks, hemp milks etc are sweetened with grape juice so carby.

    As your bulking with a good variety of foods including fortified like protein powder you may be getting more than you realise and supplementation is not giving you the benefits your after.

    Higher doses are not always ergogenic though. Some of them will be lost when you next go the tiolet.

    Just go for a straight roast.
    thighs anywhere from say 30 -45 minutes. just cook until centre is hot really and white. Not much more to it than that.
    180c should be fine. Once you got that bite right than add your flavours to it.

    Nice one. I was looking at some Tesco Value Oats today (oats are oats right?) and they are £0.75 per kg. MyProtein's Instant Oats are £9.99 for 5kg, so 5 x 0.75 = £3.75. The selling point of Instant Oats are that they are fine milled so you can add them to a shake and just drink them down without putting them into a blender. Could I just buy the Value oats and stick them into a blender and get them down into a fine powder? *annoyed* Just found out we don't even have a blender! If I buy a cheapo blender, would that cancel out the cost effectiveness of the Value Oats over Instant Oats?

    Yeah, the microwaveable rice were a bit of a luxury buy because I can't get brown rice to taste delicious like they do in the microwaveable bags. It was just for those times where I felt too tired to cook, but I will cut them out and stop being a girly man.

    Interesting idea with the mince, I will definitely look into that. My only concern with that is the additives they put into vegetarian products to get them to taste like meat. I prefer to eat as natural and clean as possible whilst still remaining on a tight budget (ha).

    Yeah prices are through the roof, it's really hard to eat well these days.

    £1.25 for 15 Tesco Value eggs, that's very cheap. They are on the small side usually though, and void of omega three but at £1.75 for 6 omega3 eggs and it's just not feasible as you need to get in as many eggs in a day as you can (Creme Eggs don't count). How do you eat yours?

    Reduced meats in the freezer? Is that safe then? There is time it takes to freeze, and the time it takes to defrost on top of the fact its past its sell by date.

    From my reading, having lactose removed from the product doesn't always alleviate the symptoms as there is another ingredient (I can't remember which) in milk which can cause digestive problems.

    Have you ever tried Lactase? I don't think it's working for me, and the cost is just too high as you have to take 2 tablets just before you intake dairy, and it's a guessing game on how long before, and how much lactase will be sufficient.

    That is something I haven't worked out, and I will do that, otherwise like you say, it'll be going down the toilet.

    Iguanapunk I did an Internet order with Waitrose today £ 114.22 minus savings of £13 off on offers minus £10 off voucher = £90.73 and free delivery Sunday afternoon (free delivery anytime on orders over £50)

    essential Waitrose fruit and veg 1/3rd off to 1st May.. 3 500g packs of British veal mince for £10, 3 packs of 2 Gressingham duck legs for £10.. what's not to like..I happily stuff my freezer with Waitrose offers but also shop at Lidl for veg and Morrisons for fish..

    Lactofree has a lactase enzyme added to it but as I'm stuffing Lindt 90% cocoa chocolate at the moment I'm feeling too lazy to go look in the fridge sorry :)

    No problem at all freezing reduced meat, I imagine 99% of MSE users do it! Obviously once you defrost it you need to cook it either that day or next and don't defrost something and then bang it back in the freezer.

    I enjoy Green & Blacks 85% but it's a bit out of my price league at the moment so I am eating Tesco's 85% version. It's tasty, I find Lindt a bit sickly.

    I didn't know about lactase being added to Lactofree. I eat their version of Philidelphia in small amounts too. I also use Pure Olive spread. Going off topic here....

    Essential is Waitrose economy line isn't it? Even with the offers at Waitrose, I don't think they can compete with the cheap and cheerful supermarkets as i'm not concerned with quality while I bulk, just need stuff I can shovel in and get fat on.

    If you want to shovel in and get fat then surely you need to be eating a lot of carbs ? Protein will make you feel full. Granted 58% of protein gets made into glucose but with carbs it's a much simpler process and cheaper too.
    So how about wholemeal bread, brown rice, spelt, quinoa, couscous, polenta, pasta etc ?
