Swap chicken breast and sausage for chicken thigh. overall fat content will be the same especially if not eating the skin. You get more protein for your money.

Eggs - if your supplementing with flax (though cod liver oil is cheaper) i would not worry about flax in your eggs.

Goats and rice milk - can you drink cows milk as lots cheaper?
Cheers. I suffer from lactose intolerance, hence the goat and rice milk.

I will have to try chicken thigh again, I didn't like it when I had it before, was too fatty.

The thing with flaxseed is the absorbtion rate isn't very good, but I need to include that in as I don't get on well with fish or their supplements.

I did not think vit d had any ergogenic properties?

From your thread i am guessing your not indian descent wearing head to bottom clothing just showing your eyes?

your protein powder probably has it added?

I would probably add a multi-vitamin mineral tablet to your list.
I am of Indian descent and Indians don't wear those types of clothing, you're getting confused with Pakistanis.

Vitamin D is mostly created by exposure to the sun, but as we live in grey ol' England we don't generate as much as we need to. I read an article by a Doctor which recommended 5000iu as a safe dosage to improve your health and wellbeing.

Ha another tablet? If you shook me i'd rattle. I'd hoped i'd get enough vits/mins from fruit and veg but you're probably right.

I think it was only pakistanis wearing the full clothes (burka?) that show sign of defiencey. Even though you have dark skin you should be okay especially if your out and about on a summer day.

For the multi -vit and mineral. (this would include vit D) - you go for lots of tablets and you could simpily some this and cheapen the cost by going for a multi vit & mineral

    Pictures or I don't believe it. ;)
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

    .

I thought you might say lactose intolerant.
Have you tried soya milk over rice milk? think soya is cheaper.

While chicken thigh is more fatty than breast, I also find it more moist and flavoursome when cooked.
Not sure how you have tried cooking it before?
  • Been waiting to find such post on here:j
Id say cut everything down to basics/economy range as much as possible, and swapping microwave rice for uncooked alternatives. With your frozen mince, possibly switch to veggie mince, works out way cheaper for me and will contain more protein. I normally buy my eggs from aldi, as i get through plenty (aldi free range eggs =£2 for 15, compaired to sainsbury's £3.05 for 15).
I find it really hard to do the same thing as i have low paid job and food price's appear to be soring.
Another tip, as obvious as it is is to buy reduced fresh meats and pop in the freezer.
look forward to reading up on people's replies on this topic:)

The trouble with a multi-vitamin is that the dosages of each vitamin are small compared to if I did them seperately. As I am putting my body under great stress during this period (constant muscle fibre damage) I feel it's better to go for the higher doses for better recovery.

I am a bit of a money saving expert myself, and did a lot of research to find the best bargains but I thought i'd bring it to the pro's :D

Ha well I call myself a bodybuilder but I don't look like one as of yet. Hopefully my bulk/cut will sort that out and i'll post some shots then for you. Hard road ahead.

I have tried soya yes, and there is a possible link between soya and increased oestrogen in the body which is not what you want during bulking. Rice milk is sometimes on offer down the longlife milk aisle for 2 for £2 and it tastes like skimmed cows milk imo. Fresh Goats milk is lovely and the prices went down recently to £1.39 which I was happy about, i'll be having 1 carton 4x a week on training days.

I tried a Nigella reciepe which didn't go very well, I probably got distracted by her magnificent breasts and missed how to cook it. I am not very skilled in the kitchen unfortunately, I have about 3 dishes I can do really well (in my opinion) but that is it. Any suggestions on a good chicken thigh dish I can mess up?
