Read some of the comments also and you will see this offer is very very easy to get .The deal is basically for people who have freesat and their own equipment. But you can blag this if you take time to read some of the posts on the link above.

I have sky+ in my front room ( 2 mix package and recording facilities) was on £7.50 per month but this has run out and i now pay £25!! I think they are charging me £10 per month for the sky+, but my 12 month subscription for that should of expired in November.(Does anyone know if they should still be charging me for that?)
I have my old box in my bedroom, just got freeview channels and no sky+.
Could i get this deal on the box in my room?Lightbulb moment Dec 2005 - debt £23700

Things you need to do in order to get this offer;
1. Have your own Sky box, and dish already
2. Ring the special number (there are no options it's straight through to Sky (scottish call centre)
3. Say you'd like to take up the FREE TRIAL offer
3a. Say you did enjoy the free month when asked.
4. Pick the package you want from the postings on the HotUKDeals Site (as per link at start of this thread)
5. Give them your works phone number (has to be a landline, but don't use the same on as on your existing Sky account)
6. Say you are not near the box (maybe you are ringing on your mobile or from work) in order to give them the Sky viewing card number, they will then say they will send you a new card out.
7. Set up a DD (preferably give a different a/c no. than the one you already have set-up)
All the above takes you as far away as you can from the details that Sky may hold on you already as an existing subscriber, and hopefully will mean you can easily pass the offer.I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing!

m00nie wrote:i phoned up to cancel our top package yesterday (was seeing if i could get a better deal) 15 minutes the sky rep was trying to convince me to stay but never once offered me a deal. just kept saying sky is the cheapest blah blah. so i let him waffle on and in the end he said will you stay i said no. 30 days notice. i hear the sky+ feature is going to be free for all from this month so may just use my +box on the freeview for a bit
I'm paying £10 a month for the use of the recording facility on the Sky+ box. Where did you hear the Sky+ is going to be free.
p.s tried to get the deal but they say i'm still a existing customer as I pay this £10 a month to be able to record.0 -
I too pay £10 for sky+ functionality, it would be great if it was free, where did you hear it?There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0

I cancelled my sky but was told i still had to pay £10 per month for the recording facilities which i did.
When i called a few months later to take advantage of the half price deal i was told that i shouldn't be paying £10 at all so was given another number to call about it.
I called them and they told yes i had to pay £10 as i was still within a 12 month contract, even though i've been with sky for years when i took sky+ it counted as a 12 month contract. So i asked if once my 12 month contract was up, would i stop paying the £10? They told me yes! But im still paying
Edited to add i just called up and was told you pay £10 per month for sky+ unless you have 2 or more premium channels, so everything i was told before about 12 month contracts etc isn't true.Lightbulb moment Dec 2005 - debt £23700

Won't SKY need to send a signal to active the new card to the phone number you've supplied for the new account ?. If you've given them a different number .......... problems ??.0
