Sorry. No way I would speculate on such a case-dependent issue.

It'll take as long as it needs to obtain the necessary, acceptable documentation and data.

That's the best answer I can give.

Just had our formal offer through from Nationwide. Took just over two weeks from application to offer. Very impressed with the turnaround. Our timings were as follows:

    09/03/12 - Application Submitted
    12/03/12 - Valuation Booked
    21/03/12 - Valuation Undertaken
    25/03/12 - Valuation Satisfactory
    25/03/12 - Formal Offer
Attempting the grasp the first rung of the property ladder:

    DIP Agreed : 03/03/13, Full Application Submitted : 09/03/13, Valuation Satisfactory : 25/03/13, Formal Mortgage Offer : 25/03/13, Completion: 03/06/13

I have just chased my broker there as Im still waiting on a decision - be it good or bad I would like to know today
  • Hi, if it helps, my timeline is as follows:

    12/03/12 - Application Submitted
    12/03/12 - Valuation Booked
    23/03/12 - Valuation Undertaken
    25/03/12 - Valuation Satisfactory
    25/03/12 - Formal Offer

My understanding from the Broker is that Nationwide need everything in triplicate and presented accurately and to the letter, otherwise you may hit some timing issues. We went overboard on providing everything and I am a fastidious bookkeeper and filer, so I imagine this helped us with putting together the application.

I wish you all good luck and I have to say that it's been a very simple process, although a very good broker has certainly helped things.

Thanks, I have literally just been told it passed so good news :D
  • Great stuff!
  • I'm a FTB. Put in an application on 22nd, instant DIP, still waiting for the valuation to be instructed... terrifying!:o
  • Hi Guys.

I had a decision in principle on 21/03/2013.
    Offer accepted on house 22/03/2013.
    Full application 25/03/2013.
    Valuation booked for 27/03/2013.

Its happening so fast and i know that the valuation will be fine but i am so scared..i am doing my own head in.
Anybody had a decline from this point on???

    Thanks
