I keyed a Nationwide application on Saturday, uploaded all the documentation on Sunday and had the valuer instructed immediately. I'm just waiting for the valuation to be done and the report uploaded and the case should be offered immediately.

Well-packaged, straightforward, cases are (and should be) going pretty much straight through the system.

    Ms-Money-Penny, Congratulations:beer:,

My survey has been booked for Monday next week and I hope it will be fast as well.

Do you know when will you need to show your deposit? For example If (I hope) my mortgage application would successful within two weeks time, then when will I need to show mortgage deposit (I am 2k Short now due to an emergency withdraw from my mortgage deposit and it will be received back on 5th or 10th February 2013)..very confused now...:(
Chances are the lender will ask your solicitor to get proof of deposit, if it needs it.

  • If for instance, My application accept (not sure) say on 15th Jan and formal offer documents received by i.e. 22nd Jan'13, then, in what stage do I need to show my deposit...??

I'm sorry. I can't answer that, other than to say when your solicitor requests it, if it's needed.

Nationwide asked the proof of deposit during the application.
As you already passed this stage, they will probably not ask it anymore.

    Thanks Brazuca,

Just a quick question on Nationwide guys.....will they credit check again at full application as part of the process? They did a credit check at the time they offered my MIP.

Full check is conducted on application.
  • I contacted to my state agent on 9th Jan'13 if my survey has been booked or not and she informed me that it has been booked for Monday next week ie. 14th Jan'13. I am just wondering because I haven't received any text confirmation from nationwide.... Is it normal??
  • My mortgage in principle was initially accepted followed by full application with Nationwide (still waiting for decision). I applied through broker. Now my suvey has been booked for next week 17th Jan'13. If my house survey report will satisfactory, then would I assume my mortgage application is accepted? or it can still be declined...??:(.

The reason why I am asking this question is because I have appointed as solicitor for conveyncing services and they are asking for upfront cost with signed contract. I don't want to signed contract and pay money until the satisfactory survey report and mortgage approval. Please can anyone advice...? much appreciated..
  • I have had a good experience with nationwide:

22 December 2012 Offer accepted on house
3 January 2013 application submitted in branch and mortgage in principle agreed
    8 January 2013 Valuation
    9 January 2013 Valuation satisfactory
10 January 2013 Nationwide mortgage adviser informs me that offer has been sent out (awaiting paper documents in post)

90% ltv mortgage and quite close on affordability so not necessarily a straight forward case.
