You will need something that will prove your mum was ill, could you get anything from the doctor or hospital to support this? they will charge you for any info though, or appointment cards may help to show how long this went on for, if you had to stop work to look after you Mum, would your employer confirm this, also, did you get carers allowance? anything like this can only strengthen your case for not going to FOS sooner.0

No I didn't get carer's allowance.
I've spoken to my mother's Consultant's secretary who is sending me confirmation of her hospital stay & follow up appointments.
I've got the paperwork I intend to send which I'm taking into work on Monday to photocopy then I can send it out recorded delivery.
Just read the NHS employee thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3980291 (hope that works) which is interesting as I worked for the NHS at the time I applied for the card & it states on my application what my occupation was which is obvious it's in the health service. :T0 -

Fingers crossed and I hope they look at this and find in your favour.0 -
Well it's in the post tray & ready to be collected by the postman (the RD book is signed for) so fingers crossed.
What sort of time do you think I'm looking at before I hear from them?0 -
Today I got a letter from Cap one regaring my PPI complaint they have decided to refund the full amount of PPI and associated interest.
I only paid PP on my credit card for a year before I cancelled it.
So PPI premiums £92.31, interest £142.21 and 8% interest £2.07 so the total amount is £236.59
Years (2011) later I actually defaulted on this very card and have been paying off £74 per month. So they will offset the refund to my outstanding default balance of £1461.00, which is fine by me. The refund is equivalent to 3 months of my monthly payments so I will clear the outstanding balance three months earlier!!
Although I am now waiting for a repsonse regarding my Cap one loan protection insurance, the premium was £863. If I am successful and they offset again this should wipe out the outstanding balance of the default once and for all.Debt-Free day 30th September 20140
