  • Thanks Beanie - they set off a little while ago! Xx

    Wooo Hoooo!

that is good to read, have a lovely day PLMBL XXXXX
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Cheers Buffy! Day hasn't been quite what I imagined.

Mr Lucky is still en route home. He has had a good day apparently but it has made him a bit emotional and made him realise how much he misses bikes and the racing scene . I'm not sure how that will pan out in his mood over the next few days but I will talk to him properly when he gets back. It's hard to gauge in quick phone calls.

DS1 was a royal pain in the a$$ this morning. I've actually advertised him on facebook as free to a good home!! He thinks I'm his personal slave and DS2 is his punch bag and I'm fed up of it. I refused to even make him lunch today and I have mainly ignored him, if he doesn't listen to me, why should I listen to him?! Gawd help me when he is a *real* teenager because he's doing a good enough impression of it now :(.

Grandma wasn't feeling up to going out today, Mum decided to do her own thing and MiL has been visiting a friend in hospital, so we ended up on our own. I wasn't prepared to let DS1 make a decision as to what we did after his horrible behaviour, so I asked DS2 and he said stay in and watch a dvd!! So the furthest we've been all day is to drop off a birthday present to my lovely neighbour. Not a NSD though as DH has been spending money. Still haven't even achieved one this month :o.

It's lovely to hear Mr Lucky didn't have seizure after all and went on to have a lovely day with his friend. Mr SA gets emotional when the carer takes him and dog to parks we used to go to pre lymphoma. Thanks for reassurance re appetite - I wonder whether it's something to do with brain injuries. Hope DS1 has calmed down by now - you don't need the hassle! Kids eh - bless 'em (she says through gritted teeth). Hope you've got your feet up relaxing by now!
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • DH is being :mad::mad::mad: this afternoon so I'm hiding out in the diaries before his face accidentally makes contact with my frying pan :o. He doesn't know why he's angry apparently but he can't rein it in. Joy!.

Just catching up with your news from early March

This quote - I recognised the feeling from years ago. My boyfriend of the time and I were shopping at a certain Swedish furniture store. I'd done my research and budgeting and the placing of the order for my bed took minutes.

Boyfriend (a 'poor' student), was moving into a new flat (not with me) and wanted a frying pan. He started looking at a set of two for the grand price of £5.99, "but there are two, I only need one". He next progressed to the single pan for £3.99 - "but it's blue, I want black". So we agreed to keep looking around the store. A bit later we came back and he's holding up each option. "I want black, but I don't need two. I need one, but don't want blue". Further looking around the store. Back for the third time and same scenario. Then he discovered the cast iron frying pan (£16.99) and I thought we had a winner, until on the way to the till he announced that "it's too heavy, let's go back and look at the others".

I swear he doesn't know how close he came to getting that cast iron frying pan wrapped around his head! I know he was a student but the set of two was £5.99! I almost bought them for him myself.

I think that was the last time he and I went shopping together :)

    Take care of yourself.

Hi lucky. Great to hear (most!) things are all hunkey-dorey for you at the minute. Hope it stays that way.

    Any takers for DS1?? :rotfl:
(TMI, I'm sorry :o) You can imagine our house at the minute - 3 teenagers and me all got Aunt Flo visiting at the same time  Heaven help OH! ;rotfl:
(anyone else find it weird the way women who live and/or work together all seem to be in sync!?!)
I can't believe how little we live on now compared to before!! I remember someone on here talking about quality of life vs standard of living and I think it illustrates it well. We now have a low standard of living in terms of material stuff, the things we can do and the money we have, but our quality of life is the highest it's ever been. Xx

    Love this! :D:D

  • SA, I'm so pleased we have each other to compare notes with. It's all the little things that no one tells you about that make a difference, and it's good to get reassurance. Glad to read on your diary that you have booked a holiday. I hope it all goes well.

JAT that's so funny re the frying pan. I'd be like "!!!!!! who gives a toot what colour it is" :rotfl:.

HAW, 4 Aunt Flos at the same time . Is Mr HAW wearing a hard hat and keeping his head down?? :p.

Unfortunately today hasn't been hunky-dorey. DH has been in a pig of a mood and kept snapping at me this morning. I think it's been his bad mood but he insisted it was all my blame. It got to the stage where I told him I was struggling to want to be part of this family anymore and I got myself all ready to go out just me and the kids. At that point I was honestly going to leave him on his own for the day and I didn't care what the consequences were :o. By the time I got both boys ready to go out DH had got himself ready, apologised in a fashion and asked if he could come too. I couldn't say no so we all went to a park in the next village. While the boys were playing we talked it through and I pointed out that as much as it's hard for him, it's hard for me too. He says one thing and then does another and then I have to smile and mop up the 'mess' that causes, without making him see that I'm less than happy or woe betide! We've made up but I've felt flat all day.

Apart from the park we've been swimming today also. It ended up being a total freebie as we normally only have to pay £1.90 for DS1 and the rest of us go free, but today DS1 was free too :T. Still not been a NSD though as we also did the weekly shop at Mr T's, though I did use a £5 off a £40 spend voucher.

Unfortunately DS2 slipped and fell at the pool, banging his head. Hopefully all is ok apart from the slight egg just above his ear :(. There's always something!!

  • My tolerance seems determined to leg it Rach!! I'm hanging on to it by the skin of my teeth :rotfl:.

Had an ok day today. DH has still been moody but more bearable (and he took it out on his Mum not me!!). We used the Group0n voucher I bought back in Feb and went to an activity farm. Now that we have collected our passes they are valid until November, so plenty of free days out to be had for the rest of the year!!

Got weighed tonight and I've gained 2.5lbs . Really disappointed as I haven't been naughty, but I haven't been sleeping well either and stressing about DH's seizures etc. The last time he had an episode I also gained weight, so I think it's my body's way of coping. Super annoying! Why can't dropping 7lbs be it's way of coping instead?!.

  • Hi PLMBL,

I wonder if your body works on the same kind of time delay that mine does. I can be happily eating rubbish and my clothes don't get tighter and I think I've gotten away with it. However, two weeks down the line when I've been eating healthier, the clothes get tight and I'm like "what"! Then, I remember what I was doing to my body a fortnight ago.

    Take care.
