    Hi Lucky, :hello:

Good idea from Kissjenn re Iron Bru. ;)
Just read something else that made me giggle too....

A First Grade teacher was reading the story of Chicken Little to her class. She came to the part where Chicken Little tried to warn the farmer. She read "....and so Chicken Little went up to the farmer and said, 'the sky is falling, the sky is falling!'".
The teacher paused and then asked the class, "And what do you think that farmer said?".
One little girl raised her hand and said "I think he said:"
    'Holy s h i t a talking chicken!'".
The teacher was unable to teach her class for the next 10 minutes!

    :rotfl:
(What a great teacher to get the kids under control so quickly, lol!).
  • DH is having a dodgy day today. Think he over did things yesterday and he is panicky and confused today. His memory is terrible, way worse than usual and that's saying something!

DS1 has been my rock again! We ran out of milk and he volunteered to go get some. He's been itching to be allowed to go to the shop on his own and thus far I had refused. It's not too far but it involves crossing a few (minor) roads. It's not that I don't trust him, it's just if something bad was going to happen it would happen to us!! Anyway, this morning it seemed a better idea than leaving DH in the house while I went, so I DS1 let go. It went without a hitch and he's pleased as punch. Maybe I shouldn't be so protective and let him grow up a bit more. He's already proven he can be calm in an awful situation. Love him to bits.

Not sure what the plan will be today, depends on how DH goes I suppose. Was hoping to visit Grandma (still in hospital!) and get the boys out somewhere for a run around. Fingers crossed things get better.

  • I think incremental steps (I think that's a better way of phrasing it than my original 'baby steps') for DS1 is the way to go.

My parents started this way - corner shop doesn't count as it was across the road from our house.

First, we weren't allowed up town without our parents, then we were driven both ways to the cinema with a friend (buses not plentiful where we lived), next, allowed a few hours up town shopping with a friend with Dad to pick us up. After that, I was allowed to cycle up town ALONE but with a strict deadline for returning. If I missed the deadline, then I wasn't allowed to do it again for awhile.

Well done to DS1 and I hope DH is feeling better soon.
  • Sounds like a plan JAT. I think my Mum and Dad did similar with me, and again later on when I was going out pubbing and clubbing :D.

DH has had some lunch and seems a little sharper. Think we will just stay in though and see how he gets on throughout the day Xx

Your DS1 is a little star Lucky! Hope hubby is back to normal soon.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Well some of DS1's shine has worn off since he has been fighting with one of his friends :(. They were all playing in next door's garden and words were exchanged (the other boy said it was DS1 being nasty, DS1 said it was the other boy) and the boy lamped him one. DS1 retaliated and a major fight broke out. Sigh, last thing I needed.

DH has come round and seems ok tonight. We didn't get to go anywhere today though as it's only recently he's been more 'normal'. Would have been a NSD were it not for the milk this morning!!

  • Well the bloods show my iron levels are way to low so I'm on tablets for the next 3 months! Kicking myself for not asking about the injections but it was all go when the Dr phoned with someone at the door as well and up to the neck in paint. I totally forgot.

In pain at the moment as I've pulled my trapezius muscle and it's sending pain right up through my neck, my jaw, my ear and the side of my head :(. Thank goodness for microwave heat packs!! If it's not one thing it's another!!

Looking forward to getting weighed later, hoping to make up for the disappointment of staying the same last week!

  • Sooooooooooo hacked off!! I stayed the same weight again :(. I've been super good all week with both food and the gym! Even DH lost a pound and he has nothing left to lose! What is wrong with me?? There has to be something, I can't stay the same 2 weeks in a row despite eating healthily! :( Will ask the Consultant when I see him tomorrow.
