Sound like a pretty perfect and cheap day. I love walking around posh places, is it like Alderley Edge where there are many signs that money certainly doesn't buy taste? I can't even comprehend having that kind of money though, but I'm sure I'd learn quick, probably spend it just as quick too.

Enjoy your evening off and have a lovely time with your family. Xx
  • Lol Goao, most of the houses were very tasteful, however there were a few where I thought "do you really need a fountain THAT big in front of your house?!". You could easily swim in them!!

  • What a mixed bag of a day!!

This morning DH went with his friend to do an exercise thing, so I took the opportunity to go visit one of my friends in her new flat. It was lovely to catch up and even nicer to be just me. DS1 was at school, DS2 was at playgroup and I knew DH was in safe hands, so I was 'just me'! Well, me and my onboard passenger :D. I felt really positive.

Driving home a song came on the radio that reminded me of my Dad, and I burst into tears :(. That opened the floodgates and I spent most of the afternoon in tears. I cried because I was hungry but I didn't know what I wanted to eat! I cried because my trousers felt tight already. I cried because last year we paid our car insurance in full but I can't afford to do that this year but we also can't afford an extra bill every month. I cried because I was happy today was a NSD. I really, really, really cried when I saw the photo of Drummer Lee Rigby's son at his funeral.

MIL popped round at teatime and DH told her I'd cried all afternoon. Bless her she offered to pay our car insurance in full (£254). I tried to refuse but she insisted and I'm secretly very glad she did. What would I do without her?! So then I cried again. Bloody hormones!

Tonight I spoke to my Grandma who is finally sounding a bit better. She was way more positive about the baby too and backed me up over my Mum's reaction. She is definitely more herself :j.

  • Oh bless you. I've not been pregnant but have been around many pregnant women and think it's very normal for emotions to be somewhat volatile.

    How lovely of your MIL!

I think its normal for Mums to sometimes be worried, at the moment her main concerns are you and your happiness, you're her baby after all. My sister is pregnant and our Mum didn't take it too well at first. Not because she doesn't want another grandchild or won't love him to pieces but her initial thought was just for my sister and she worried that things might be tough for her as she and her boyfriend are on low incomes. She is super excited now and can't wait to be a Grandma again. I'm sure your Mum will be the same.

Glad your Grandma is sounding better :).

If you want to cry, then have a good cry after all you are pregnant.

Sometimes when I am wandering around looking at big houses I wonder what the people who own them do for a living and also if they have any debt (probably a heck more than me), I have a cousin who lives in a big house with lots of land and who once said to her mum never to ask her how much she owed the bank cos she would probably have a heart attack.

    Have a great weekend.xx
