  • Sorry about last night everyone :o. I've just re read through it all and it all seems a bit daft now. Aunt flo arrived through the night and hopefully she brought Uncle Positivity with her as I feel slightly less unbalanced this morning!!

Nothing seems insurmountable today. I can see that I normally cope with each individual point, but they all came at me at once over the last few days at a time when I'm emotionally vulnerable anyway. I just got fed up of being the responsible strong one and dealing with all the shush on my own. My self esteem and confidence is low at the minute and that has a bearing on all this.

Fortune that's a brilliant list thank you and one which I shall work through for sure. The 30mins to myself made me smile. It's what I keep saying I want but what would I actually do with it??? Um, sleep? Watch trashy tv? Surely there is something better I could do :rotfl:

30 minutes to yourself ....... ahh bliss ! The only place I can truly clear my head is to go and sit on the rocks at the shore and watch the sea. Not today however, Farm VAT to be done, The dreaded IACS form is sitting on the back of my desk scowling at me, So many dust bunnies floating around downstairs that the dog thinks she has new pets to play with ! So much for a lazy Sunday, and thank goodness for my secret stash of dark chocolate (aids concentration dont you know ! ) Hope your day improves PMBL x
Its just a bad day, Not a bad life ..

    Hi Lucky,

Glad to hear the tension has broken this morning.

..Uncle Positivity - what a wonderful metaphor! :rotfl:

..Umm, do a bit of work in Lost-Baby's memory garden? If you go with the idea, first of all you need to choose a space and clear it, then think about the plants you want to put in there - you could probably use up a few 30 minute slots blagging MSE cuttings from neighbours, family and mates (which means you'll be talking about Babe - helping everyone acknowledge him/her). You'll probably also find you are given contributions towards buying the tree/bush which will become the centrepiece (so MSE again). ;)

I am glad you are feeling a bit brighter today. :j:j:j:j

I definitely understand the having to shoulder all the responsibility thing. This week every time I start a coversation about money DH has walked away. I eventually trapped him. Even if it is to say 'just do what you think is best' I want some feedback and a feeling someone else is sharing it with me. It might be too soon to do what I have this week, only you will know when it is the right time.

The 30 mins alone is always tricky. Do you try to catch up on something, go and lie on the bed and do some relaxation/ meditation or as you say watch trashy TV?

Once again you lot are wonderful, thank you :A

Well, what a difference a few hours make! Nothing but good stuff to report!!

MIL's friend called and asked if DH could help her for a few hours in the garden today as she had some heavy digging and lifting to be done that she couldn't do herself. This then meant we could have some time apart. I think this was beneficial.

I took the boys to meet my Grandma, Auntie and Cousin's son (My Mum too busy packing for her holiday next week!!! She flies on Lost-Baby's due date!!). Grandma paid for our drinks and gave me the £3 change :A. I had a good chat with my Grandma about how I've been feeling too. We then went down to the beach and Grandma and Auntie walked along the prom while I walked along the beach with the boys. Mara I'm sorry you didn't get your time on a rock today but you must've had a premonition as that's exactly what I got! Sitting watching the boys skim stones at the water's edge in the sunshine was fabulous. I felt so much better.

Got home having spent not a penny, and upon collecting DH, MIL's friend slipped us £25 as a gift for helping her out. So we are now £28 up and have achieved the first NSD of May :T

PoohI've spoken to DH now that I'm calmer and cleared the air with him too.

Glad to hear you feel better now and what a lovely day you just had! Sometimes you need a meltdown to get things in perspective.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • So happy things have turned around. Remember, emotions are there to keep us steady laugh and cry in equal measure. I also recommend writing a poem or sonnet which you can say inwardly or outwardly to help. Just to say at those times when you reflect on things. Grandmas are gilt edged. A day with grandma is Like a Christmas. You can't be unhappy and feel like you have loads to say thankyou for. X
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • Cheers DFW, SA and SBO!

Awake at stupid o'clock again. Hate this pattern I've developed of having to be in bed by 10pm because I'm so tired, but then waking at 1am or so and not being able to go back to sleep for hours :(. Slight difference tonight in that I feel a bit sickly too though! Hope I'm not getting the bug.

Been reading the news headlines and I'm  about the family involved in the speedboat accident. Dad and 8 year old daughter killed, and Mum, 4 year old son and two daughters aged 10 and 12 airlifted to hospital :(:(:(. This really puts things into perspective for me and my heart aches for them. What makes it worse is that it's a boat we've actually been on :(. It happened in Padstow, Cornwall which is where we have holidayed at least 3 times. Beautiful place. Such a tragedy and I'm thanking my lucky stars we weren't involved.
