Asda to stop accepting Cheques

I was in our local Asda today when they announced over the tannoy that as from the 16th April they wont be accepting cheques as a payment method, they say they see this as ''a move forward''.

Just thought it may be of interest to some of you out there... :)

crikey can't remember the last time I used a cheque, it's probably buried away in a drawer with 10 tons of dust on top lol my daughter is 14 and said she wouldn't have a clue how to use one, how things change

My Local Tescos have not taken cheques since 1st January.

I think I still have a cheque book somewhere but never use it.

Yeah, no-one ever uses them in shops anymore so there's no point of accepting them and cashing them in etc.. Of course there could be the odd few that still use cheques..
