    Hello.
I have never posted here before but have had an occasional look in and want to say thanks to everyone responsible for a very helpful, informative thread.
I am returning to ms after a lengthy break so hope to be able to perhaps contribute rather than just lurking and trying to learn.
    But thanks again!
    arghhh!!!

Are they the measuring and counting ones? If so, yes terrible pay!

Are they ethnic stores? If so, those are the ones. I'm not touching them unless they treble the fee. Me demanding? Never ;);)

Welcome on board. The more the merrier. Good luck getting back into it.

Does anyone know if we can use a gift card for the GR torso shop? I've emailed them and still not had a response yet. Maybe one of you guys has used one in the past?

Try ringing GR - it is holiday time and maybe they are not so efficient as usual at checking emails. You should be able to get put through to someone from the 0800 number.

Been browsing my 'shops available' - and it's a bit thin on the ground, which I expect as I have no recent track record. So - that's ok, but I have to say I am stunned, yes, stunned at the slave labour rates some of the companies are offering.

I know one of the rules of this thread is no names - no fees. But I can hardly contain my outrage at a co offering a supermarket shop requiring a detailed questionnaire and offering less than 1/3 of the minimum hourly wage. [Is that oblique enough?] I dont know who I am more annoyed at - the company offering or the people taking the jobs.

Have job rates really plummetted that much?

While people take the paltry fees, the companies wont pay more, but most people who expect to make some kind of living from this wont do these jobs. I think it's mainly the inexperienced newbies that work for this rate, but I'll not work for less than a decent wage (including time writing reports and travelling) and I'll think you'll find the jobs you get by referral and recommendation are still relatively well paid.
I'll not take anything less than a £5 fee, and that has to be a v. quick shop I'm going past anyway, or a phone call/email job.
Some of the low fees end up being far less than minimum wage, as you say, and I value myself higher than that...

Yep, were all a bit stumped as to how they get those covered.

Certainly of late there has been a spate of no fee and only reimbursements paid, so I don't bother. I then noticed that many of these jobs surface again, released and expired.

Hopefully, the more this happens it might alter their perspective down the line.

They haven't all been done up here, I got calls at the weekend to cover them but they were told firmly no. If they up the fee they are a decent walk past job, the report is a piece of cake BTW.
