Just done a Gap chicken job and the receipt I was given doesn't have the address on it. It does have the vat number on it so they can trace the store through that but I've never had a chicken receipt that didn't have the address at the top, are Gap likely to get funny about it?
No I've had receipts before just like that and they have been accepted.

Totally unrelated to m/s but can someone help? Got some hedge trimmers from B and Q this week. Just went to use them now and within 1 minute accidentally cut the wire. It's not like the Black and Decker I had previously, the wire comes out at an angle and there is no safety catch at the back. Would it come under guarantee or is that £50 down the drain because of my error?
You could repair it for much less then £50.

Not worth the repair. The wire is a health and safety hazard. I want my money back if I can, or an exchange.

Not going to happen. Try claiming on your insurance for accidental damage. If you don't have insurance then you won't get your money back.

If its a wire it can be repaired... but definitely pilot error

bottom line its a design choice and you choose the product. You would have to prove (probably in court) that the design was intrinsically unsafe

The B&Q near me are really good for giving refunds or exchanges on things that I have taken back because they're not suitable or good enough quality. I would take them back and be totally honest about it being a design flaw and a hazard, you'll hopefully get served by a lovely, understanding member of staff who will give your money back.

On a different note, just finished writing a long report for a restaurant and the server has gone down as I clicked to save and enter - I wonder how much I have lost? - hopefully just the final thoughts part.

Good point, but I had to buy it based on the photo and take it home. If I opened it and took it home, they would not take it back would they? Think I might have to contact Bosch and have a moan at them for the poor desing. Knowing my luck, they will probably tell me where to go.

I don't really want to get the wire repaired because it will happen again unless I have two people holding the wire each time I used it. There is no safety catch / holder on it. Boohoo!

Take it back and tell them the wire was cut when you took it out the (sealed) box #littlewhitelie

So who turned coat on [STRIKE]Britians[/STRIKE] Scotlands Andy Murray?

On a more shopping related note, I was supposed to do a couple of slappers on Thursday but I decided to bring my Daughter home from the hospital instead :j:j:j:j:j. Will I be able to get them rescheduled if I ring in on Monday or will they be released before I get a chance?
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

TG, you are so bad and I love it. I phoned the store so they will know it was me that cut it. LOL.

Anyway, will contact Bosch tomorrow and say it was not fit for purpose and that it is still a health hazard. If they don't want to know, I will just get rid of it. It's too dangerous to use even if re-wired/connected.

Thanks all for your advice and tips. Much appreciated.

My Dad was forever cutting the cable on his hedge trimmer. He has lived to 79 so its no real problem to reconnect! He uses one of these:
