    Had 2 eye tests today.

Prescription differs by 0.50 on 2 of the measurements.

The 1st felt a more professional optician, so think I'll go with his prescription when ordering my glasses that I get to keep, but the difference surprised me.

Feel like picking up a couple more of these jobs so I can take an average of all the measurements!

I went to should'vegoneto about 7 years to get an eye test done for my driving license. I had not noticed any problems with my eyes but was told I was short sighted in one eye and was steered toward some expensive designer frames.

A year or so later i had an eye test done in hospital and was told I have perfect vision. My friend is an optician and she said my experience isn't uncommon amongst chain opticians...

I did 5 this week and all are different !

Also non match with the test I had done in January at my usual optician ! Now totally confused and don't know what to get for my new glasses. I have a friend who is an Optician (150 miles away unfortunately) - I have emailed him the results - waiting for the reply.

Oh wow. My 3 have given totally different results too, some by a big margin!

Also, I got my last glasses 2 years ago, but the optician said the prescription used for these was from 6 years ago (this is my regular optician and I use them for contact lenses). Should I complain? I did go back once complaining about headaches and they said it was probably because they were new glasses!

When I first started wearing glasses properly I got 2 pairs of glasses from specsavers. One pair used to give me headaches and I just found myself never wearing them. 2 years later went to boots and they found that specsavers had switched the lenses round the wrong way! Specsavers tried to fob me off and offered to switch the lenses the correct way round but my prescription had changed by this point. I told them I wanted a new set of frames with the new prescription which they agreed to without needing to complain to head office or call any higher management other than the one that was in store. It's a health issue, so don't take it lightly!

Covert camera, they film and you can take snapshots from the footage if necessary plus the microphone is so sensitive, you only have to mutter a bit. ;)

Not got that set up, yet.
Mind these jobs and the couple of other audits I've picked up will go quite a way to paying for it.

If you have an astigmatism it can move around, it makes the axis figures look odd mind.

The test I had today was by far the best of the bunch, that will be the one sent to goggles4u for another couple of pairs.

My mum got a new pair of glasses from Specsavers a couple of years ago. When she collected them she struggled to see, but was told it was because they were new and her eyes needed to get used to them.

After a week, she took them back. A young lad spoke to her. He refused to accept that there was anything wrong with them and told her that if she couldn't see properly she should get her eyes tested :rotfl:She said "Yeah, thats why I came here last week" :rotfl:

Just done a Gap chicken job and the receipt I was given doesn't have the address on it. It does have the vat number on it so they can trace the store through that but I've never had a chicken receipt that didn't have the address at the top, are Gap likely to get funny about it?

Totally unrelated to m/s but can someone help? Got some hedge trimmers from B and Q this week. Just went to use them now and within 1 minute accidentally cut the wire. It's not like the Black and Decker I had previously, the wire comes out at an angle and there is no safety catch at the back. Would it come under guarantee or is that £50 down the drain because of my error?
