Not easier to do with the camera?

I went for the camera option. I did it at 10am so there no customers and lots of staff, so I put my headphones on, plugged them into my iPhone and just held it in front of me and glanced at all 88 machines, subtly taking 103 photos as I went round!

Depends on how comfortable you feel taking 100+ shots, if it looks like you are wandering around talking to yourself you get left alone :D

It would have been much easier as an overt audit.

Agreed. Not sure why it isn't really.

I don't think this is an assignment to take if you're not comfortable having a confrontation with the staff, as it's quite likely really.

Also if you buy for example a couple of Pink Lady apples (£3/kg) and put them through as Braeburn (c£1.80/kg) that is partial theft as you paid for it, but not the full price. Buying 320g of PL costs 96p and 320g of B cost 58p - so you have caused 38p of loss to the store.

I work for a supermarket and catch several customers doing this and void it off and put it through the correct price - their faces are a picture!

it would indeed be full theft, not sure there is such a thing as partial theft
in fact if they wished they could try to prosecute for obtaining a pecuniary advantage or obtaining goods by deception

Covert camera, they film and you can take snapshots from the footage if necessary plus the microphone is so sensitive, you only have to mutter a bit. ;)

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Had 2 eye tests today.

Prescription differs by 0.50 on 2 of the measurements.

The 1st felt a more professional optician, so think I'll go with his prescription when ordering my glasses that I get to keep, but the difference surprised me.

Feel like picking up a couple more of these jobs so I can take an average of all the measurements!

Its the looking at the photo, remembering the detail and then keying it in which is slow. I find listening to a slowed down version of the recording and keying as it goes along, much faster. But each to their own.
