I have over £200 credit on my Pay Go. This with 15% top up rewards, unlimited free txt and calls, means my credit just goes up whenever I top up Monthly.

Its got to the point where I have stopped topping up until my credit drops below £100, but having done this before, it soon adds back up.

My last highest credit was £320, and it took me over 6 Months to drop it back down. I guess with situations like this, at least for me, it may be worth selling them at such a loss as there is nothing else I can do with the credits.

Recycling the credit via a cashback site and using it for top-ups can be more efficient than using it on calls and texts.

Sounds very interesting. It's the first time I've ever heard to recycle credit via cashback sites for top-ups! Can I ask how to do that please?

I've never done this, but I think you'll find all the information you need if you your read the threads quoted above and follow the links to either getpoundsback or sellyoucredit.

    E.g. http://www.getpoundsback.co.uk/stores/mobile_payg_airtime_credit_10_payment_std_pay_2/

I've got about £100 sitting on a T-Mobile SIM. I was on a PAYG tariff: topped up a tenner a month for free text messages and Internet. I rarely made voice calls on it so the credit just kept piling up.

I tried to convert the credit in to cash using the website you highlighted, but it didn't work.

I added the feature Charge to account Bar to my account via T-Mobile's online service sometime ago. I'm guessing that stops reverse charge SMS. I've seen some debate about whether this feature does stop reverse charge SMS or not - it appears to.

I have used getpoundsback successfully and they have just increased their payment to £6.50 per £10 top up. sellyourcredit is also good if you have lower amounts to cash in.

So if you are regularly topping up £10, if you cash in your credit, your actually monthly cost will be £3.50, which can be better value than stopping topping up and using your credit to make calls and texts as Grumbler has already pointed out.
  • I've used getpoundsback and sellyourcredit and both have been great. Sellyourcredit has a much quicker payout.
