We're staying at the Tropicana Grand Azure near Nabq bay (a friend of mine stayed there last year and said she loved it- she's been to Sharm a few times.

So far we've booked a bedouin night, stargazing in the desert and a day trip to Cairo.... OH wants me to go a learner diving course with him but i'm scared of being out my depth in the sea (which is bizarre seeing as I enjoy swimming and am a fairly confident swimmer) so its going to take him a lot to convince me... I only went snorkelling for the first time a couple of years ago!

I would highly recommend the diving thing :) Ha that's the only reason we're going to Sharm! :) (It's funny - I can't stand snorkelling out of my depth, but swimming out of my depth has never bothered me... and obviously diving is fab).

Oh the star gazing thing sounds fab!! :)

All we have planned is 5 days of diving :D It's MrD's birthday while we're out there as well as it being our honeymoon so I'm wondering about something a bit special we can do for him so it's made a bit more 'his' day if that makes sense.

I loved this hotel:T. We go to Nabq every year and have stayed at many hotels on the strip. Are you staying in the suites, they're really worth it. Oooo off to look at my pics again:rotfl:

I'd look off your pier at the fish, that might make you want to dive.

Try the icebar too for something different, it's about twenty mind away.

We've done the star gazing too. I'd highly recommend the quads too.

Maybe try the icebar about twenty mind away for something different.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

We are having a honeymoon, though the circumstances are slightly unusual. Believe my OH read a list of things the groom is supposed to take care of and picked the honeymoon as the thing he would take care of. He has booked it, two weeks in October, told me the flight times, but the location I will find out at the airport.

I'm looking forward to a real holiday, our first in several years, though I'm slightly concerned as to where we are going, but hey, trust is part of a relationship right?

Think the only MSE part of it was booking early during a sale period of sorts.

    Wow, sounds brill!!!! :D

Wow there are some amazing holidays planned! What I love is that nobody is really doing the same thing - everyone's honeymoons are as individual as the weddings :D

To those of you who are letting the grooms do the booking & keeping it a surprise, you're so brave!! It's not that I wouldn't trust my OH to do it but I'm a control freak and we have very different ideas about holidays!!

We're going to Iceland for 5 days straight after the wedding - it's somewhere we've both always wanted to go (and believe me that list is SHORT!), and chilling out in a hot mud spa for a few days will be bliss after the stress of the wedding.

Then hopefully we're going to go on a "big" holiday next year for a couple of weeks to either America & the Caribbean (two-stop trip) or Australia - America is our first choice but it depends whether our friends in Oz decide to get married next year or not. If they do we'll go to the wedding & then on to somewhere else, though I'd be just as happy with either - we did get engaged in Oz after all so it would be nice to go back married.

We are flying over the Belfast the day after the wedding (well, the handfasting ceremony as we are having our registry 'do' earlier in the week for just us and parents) and have a National Trust self catering cottage (very private with amazing sea views) for 7 nights and then 1 night in a coastal hotel before flying back.

We weren't looking to go anywhere hugely exotic and Giant's Causeway is one of the places on our 'want to travel to' list.

Other than train tickets to the airport on the morning of the flight (probably about £15 each), the break down is

    Cottage: 650
    Flights: 130
    Car hire in Ireland: 130
    extra night in hotel: 70

The honeymoon is the biggest outlay of the wedding (budget total of around 3k), it does feel a lot to be spending but it is a beautiful cottage and will be lovely and relaxing :-)

    Hi,

We are having a Weddingmoon since we are getting married in Lindos:D We fly out for 2 weeks & get married on 6th day of the holiday. We are staying in our usual S/C appartments in Pefkos where we love it but we do have 3 nights booked at the Melenos Hotel in Lindos, which is a small luxury hotel & it looks amazing. We booked a superious suite for the stay & it has the most amazing views over the bay of Lindos.:j:j So we get married on the Monday & we go to the hotel in Lindos on Tuesday for 3 nights & then we will be back to finish the weddingmoon off in the apartments in Pefkos.

    I really can't wait:D
Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.

Iceland is amazing. We went in Jan for my OH's 30th. It was FREEZING though.

We are having a couple of days away somewhere in the UK where we can relax and do our own thing.

I'm trying to convince h2b that glastonbury festival will be a great honeymoon 6 weeks after we get married.
