Everyones plans sound fantastic! We are currently looking to buy our first home so we aren't having a honeymoon. We might go away for one or two nights but will be somewhere relatively close to home. Getting a house is very important for us both so we are putting everything we earn into that now as the wedding is fully saved for. Think we will go away properly the following summer. However, I did mention this to the fiance earlier and his response was "well you don't know what I have planned" so who knows?!

Ooh that sounds exciting! Of course a house is more important, you can have a honeymoon any time :)

You can even make just staying at home really special I think. OH took a week and a half off last week during my Easter holiday and we didn't go away as we normally would, due to saving for wedding! - but it was actually absolutely lovely having time at home together :)

We are going 5* all inclusive to Turkey, and I cannot wait! We havent had a proper holiday aboard for almost 7 years (buying a house has meant holidays havent been a priority), so decided we definately needed a relaxing beach holiday, and thats what we have gone for.

That sounds really lovely, one of my friends stayed in a posh hotel for two nights after the wedding and then they booked their honeymoon last minute and went from the hotel. Sooooo exciting :)

We're spending 10 days all inclusive in Sharm-el-sheikh!

We're asking for honeymoon contributions on our gift list- we're using the bliss lists website (of all the ones I looked at they take the least commission, are so flexible with what you can put on your list and really easy to use). We've already had a few purchaces from it and the wedding isnt till September! We thought it was more personal as people were able to buy us 'experiences' rather than just give us cash.

, but the location I will find out at the airport.

I'm looking forward to a real holiday, our first in several years, though I'm slightly concerned as to where we are going, but hey, trust is part of a relationship right?

    .

My oh booked ours as a surprise too but he caved in and told me a few weeks before he went which was great as he'd booked the trip of a lifetime and I had a few weeks to buy a new wardrobe.

We took the Orient Express to Venice, had a night there before moving to the poshest hotel I've ever stayed at for 6 nights of R and R. Then we had 4 nights in Rome of sightseeing before finishing off in Sorrento for 3 nights to see Pompeii.

Topped off the most amazing month of my life.

VFM4 - that is what we are doing - 2 nights in a nice hotel (1 night not enough as i don't plan to get to the room till the early hours of the morning after the wedding and don't wnat to eb checking out at midday), so we will have the whole day after the wedding to relax and be Mr & Mrs!

If we can afford it will have a few days in England in a cottage or something after that. But as we can only have 1 week off work we are limited in our options. Always thought I would have a big exotic honeymoon in a ultra posh exclusive water front room, but finances don't allow that! Priorities kick in and a house deposit is more important than a honeymoon now! I hope that doesn't sound too boring!

Zcrat41 - your honeyoon sounds amazing - i would love to tour Italy - sounds perfect and your OH has put a lot of thought into the plan so even better!
    Mort at highest - June 2008 - £171,000 - Daily Int 5.9% = £27.64:eek:
    Offset Mort - Nov 2010 £150,299- Daily Int 3.75% = Nov £15.44
    Mortgage Jan 2012 - £136,000 - Daily Int 3.75% - £3.10

Ooo where abouts are you staying? (We're going for our honeymoon too). What sort of things have you got planned while you're there? :)
