Does anyone else have a problem with their postman and parcels?

We are a large family who all work full time and so we buy a lot online both from Ebay and others. Over the last year I have become increasingly annoyed with the attitude of our regular postman.
We live up a fair few steps and he seems to have an objection to delivering parcels. He regularly makes sarcastic comments about us having a market stall or selling things on, and at Xmas he asked how long "this" was going on for. "This" being Xmas presents arriving from online retailers. I generally just smile and let him get on with it, but it is starting to get me really annoyed.
Yesterday, he arrived with four parcels, one of which needed a signature. He stood at he door and when I opened it his first words were "do I look pleased?" I replied "I don't know do you?" He then went onto make his usual market stall crack and onward selling crack (again:mad:) I just smiled through gritted teeth;), so he asked again "do I look pleased?" I replied as above again, and took the parcels from him, said thank you and closed the door.
I was seething I very nearly told him a few home truths about his job role. Fast forward to today and a parcel wrapped only in brown paper is left on the step in pouring rain even though we were in. Seems to me it was too much trouble to knock at all today.
Would this annoy you or am I tetchy?:D

I always feel bad when I go on a shopping spree and my postman turns up ladled with parcels, but he is always in a good mood about it.
Yours sounds very sour-tempered indeed (unless his comments are a failed attempt at humour), I would be annoyed too if I was greeted with him in the mornings!0 -
My postie comes very early on a Saturday & very kindly leaves parcels under my car rather than wake me. Perhaps he did that?0

I would be bloody annoyed if my postie left my stuff under your car.......0 -
I had a spate of parcels being thrown outside my front door, rather than putting them through my letter-box. (most of my parcels are post box friendly)
I found out on the days these parcels were put into my letterbox the usual post person was off.
Disrespect/potential damage/upset to my cat (thud of the post made my cat growl) and risk of theft.
I had to complain a few times for it to stop. (or the post person had moved on)0 -
Why would my postie leave your parcels under my car...0

If a postie or courier person left parcels outside my house I would almost certainly never know as they would be stolen long before I got home from work.
On occasions when they have tried (and it is always couriers) I have made an official complaint as it is not fair on senders to have me claiming for lost items because the couriers don't want to make a second trip.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. My postie's always lovely, although sometimes a bit overly so, like commenting about seeing me in bikinis when the weathers nice, or that time he wanted to show me a very private picture.:eek::eek::rotfl:
He is generally very helpful, so dismissed as a big joke to nip in the bud.Oh well...

Yes, to be honest it is not really the parcel this morning that annoyed me, I was annoyed yesterday. It just seems too much trouble for him to deliver parcels up my steps.0 -
Think its one of those things where you just need to be British - smile to his face and carry on moaning about it behind his back on internet forums.
If items are being ruined as he's leaving them out, then you have reason to complain, but while he's delivering them in the way he is paid to and just grumbling a bit about it, then just keep smiling and accept you're a bit tetchyWho made hogs and dogs and frogs?

No fault with mine he is great I make sure I tip him at xmas as he is polite, chatty and also has a lot of packets for us and just opens door on porch when we are in and puts them aside so as not to disturb us. Over all he does a great job. I accept from time to time you get the odd one with attitude problem but you get that in all walks of life0
