Looking at Aviva Preference Shares. Got a bit of extra cash, and want to de-risk slighty, so looking at prefs rather other ordinaries. Still reckon LLPC is good value, but don't want to overexpose myself (stop sniggering at the back).“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0

i wish people would mention how much they invest - any less that £4k isn'tworth it imo - due to trading costs

Your trading costs must be very high! Or you are short term trading.
I always factor into a share the cost of trading and have always, where I make a profit, have made a decent one above costs and I have never had any single share (outside my sharesave ones) that have had a value that high.
It is surely the % gain\loss that matters most and not the amount of money spent.
This thread is about the last share bought and not the amount you spent on them which is rather immaterial IMHO.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -

Cheers,
JoeGreencoat UK Wind is stable for now. Graphene Nanochem on the other hand done... Poorly.

thats a good run - i'd probably be banking some profits on those if i were you! just IMO of course.
to be honest I used to work for them and I think they always perform pretty well as a company.
I had some shares ready in a share save but left before it matured and they wouldn't let me keep them so just took the money and bought some myself, only £800 worth.
personally I think we will start to see decent growth in the next 6 months in the building sector so going to keep hold of them until that happens and see where they go pricewise. Obviously they won't go back to what they were but I remember when they were £3 each:eek:
i still have mates there as well and they always say it is still busy and expanding whilst trimming expenditure so fingers crossed for some more increases0 -
Quindell Portfolio
When it went down half it price in a day. Currently (luckily) up 10% on it at the moment.0 -
Topps tiles ? Questor likes them, mentioned over the weekend http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/markets/questor/10164434/Questor-share-tip-Hold-Topps-Tiles-shares-as-housing-market-improves.html
Bought some Amara as its fallen 90% They do have gold and the company is valued at the March cash balance.
Should probably buy alot more but anything at this price is big presuming its incorrect
Selling BP to fund it probably0 -
Bought £500 worth of Motion TV shares on Friday for £0.00014 per share.
They've recently had a court case in Spain and should get the result in the Autumn. If it goes their way then there should be some movement in the price. If it doesn't then it's just a days wages stuck in a worthless share.0 -
Im amazed by MTV, its quite some graph. Are you adding to or taking a new share
I decided to add to Amara instead of Anglo Pacific. I'll see if APF pulls back any but AMA I think is more bullish right now. Also more risky as its just gold where APF should benefit from nice Coal royalties
http://i.imgur.com/3O9k6jm.png Price, Macd, OBV & Volume got very quiet there?
Shall have to look back and see, gold could goto 1352 someone said and I tend to agree - while still being negative this year0
