i'm sat here wondering what to say to you, you will i'm sure take out this loan and waste money that, if you had waited a week would have piad for a nice treat for your son. i have been poor, very very poor and yes the kids did get things but only bits. one of the nicest birthdays we had was one where a few of us went to the park and all made bits, i made a hedgehog cake out of value ingredients and we all had party food. my kids look back and had no idea how skint we were.

i am no craft person but i have made cards before for my oh cos i couldn't afford to spend even 50p out of our budget.

enjoy your day, and make sure you pay the money back
'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time
  • Its £50 and i can pay them back in a weeks time when my credit is back in my account.

If id of had the money i would have spent it on his birthday anyway.

Is this really such a bad idea?

This has probably already been said but I started loosing the will to live after a few of your replies.

Everyone is telling you not to take out a pay day loan and you keep saying you want to do it. Why not just take the dam thing out and stop asking for validation for your decission.

I hope your son has a lovely first Birthday.

He may not understand but the fact is its his birthday!Who doesn't celebrate their child's 1st birthday? its a big thing!

So bounce your child on your knee and sing Happy Birthday to them. Give them a big hug. Then take him/her to the park. Sing songs to to the child. Read them a story. Take them on the swings. Buy a single cupcake and put a candle in it.

The point people are making (and you are missing) is that you don't have to spend money on a one year old birthday. You cannot afford it - so you can't do it. It really is that simple.

My first memory was when I was 3 years old. He will not remember if you were late with his birthday presents.

Your first pd loan? first of many i fear..They are worse than crack..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

Its a really bad idea, please try not to do it, he really wont care what you do as long he is with the people he loves, if its a nice day could you take a picnic to the park, if the weathers not so good you could have a picnic on the floor, lay a blanket out. You can even make him is own little box up with finger foods to make it special.

Spend time playing with him, singing to him reading or telling him stories, we are all so busy we sometimes forget how important the simple things are.

Whatever you do enjoy your day
