    I've been Money Tipped!
I think the OP has not understood that her job commitments mean she is not a suitable owner for a puppy or dog.

That isn't her fault, but the sooner she realises it the better

She has realised now, judging by my recent exchange of PMs with her. I can understand the OP being a bit worried about coming back onto the thread, but she has taken in what has been said and is now looking for help and failing that, will rehome the pup.

Op lives in the Stockton on Tees area, can anyone local to her offer practical help with doggy care? She works afternoons and evenings. I'm posting this with her agreement.
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

Not quite a simple as that I'm afraid. Not going to waste any more time arguing here. You truly can't argue with stupid..
I'd rather be thought of as stupid by one person than everyone else thinking I was cruel.

Define cruel. Whilst well meaning, you seriously have no idea..

Good luck with the pup OP. With the time that you DO have, combined with patience and dedication you can make this work.

I don't understand this comment, perhaps I'm stupid too. Are you implying that because some people are more cruel to animals than this it is wrong to answer the OP's question in the affirmative?

What makes you so smart? This is a genuine question. Are you a vet or an RSPCA officer? A worker for the PDSA, a zookeeper? What sorts of cruelty cases have you worked on? Give an example of what sort of level abuse needs to be at for you to call it cruel, so that everyone can benefit from your experience.

I can only go on my gut feel and experiences of pet ownership (of a chihuahua as it happens). All of which tell me that what the OP proposes is, as she asked, cruel. But I don't have any personal experience of animal cruelty, so perhaps you can put me straight?
Come on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.

I have a 3 year old greyhound and won't leave her more than 4 hours and it's very rare that it happens in the first place.I can't imagine a tiny puppy being left 9 hours.Good grief. When I was younger we used to have a dog who was left at home BUT it was only for 5 hours max-Mum worked 9-2 and Dad would pop in at lunchtime most days before she got home.We woudn't have got one if she'd been working 9-5.

thats exactly why i wont have a dog, because it wouldnt get the attention it desserved, a cat on the other hand is different i have cats and choose to have them as they are more independent than a dog.
