Remembering all my passwords!

I keep a notebook at home (which doesn't leave the house) of all my passwords for all the websites i use.

I'm trying to think of the best way to keep a note of them on my smartphone. What do y'all do? Is it wise just to type all my usernames and passwords on a word doc and save it to my phone?

On www.Lastpass.com is a password manager that integrates into your web browser which makes things easier. But if you're after just keeping a record of them, I'm not too sure about having them on a phone?

Having said that, I print mine out and hide them in the house - can't say that is much better really?!

I have mine written on a piece of paper kept in the house, nobody can clone/hack/copy and if the house burns down lost passwords will be the least of my probs.

Key pass is a good secure free open source password safe for a PC

    http://keepass.info/

I think there is a similar product for androird (probably ios too) but I forget the name.

I'm an enthusiastic user of KeePass on the PC - it has some really good security features, such as being able to keep a key on a pendrive or memory card, so that you are not just dependent on a passphrase.

If your smartphone is Android based, it would be worth looking at KeePassDroid, which is simply a port to that OS.

+1 for Keepass, I use it all the time although I use keepassx which is a port of keepass that is cross platform compatible so you can use the database file if you have to use multiple operating systems (e.g. Windows and Linux) - I'm too knew to post links so you'll have to google it, it ends in .org and you can probs guess the rest :)

Yeah, i've got a laptop with Windows 7 and an Android phone.

Keypass sounds good. Am looking into it now.

    Cheers :)

I also use keepass and keepassdroid.

You can use Dropbox to transfer and update passwords between your pc and android phone

You can use LastPass on smartphones - see https://lastpass.com/features_compare.php - scroll down to bottom of screen but you have to use LastPass Premium which is $1 per month.

Passwords are stored online encrypted and LastPass do not know your master password so even if they are hacked without your master password the hacker cannot read your passwords.

So that anyone stealing/finding your phone can see all your passwords? At the very least, encrypt the folder.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
