Change them all to something you can easily remember. No-one can hack your head (yet).

Someone once suggested the initials of a favourite song title - "I'd like to teach the world to sing (in perfect harmony)" yields iltttwtsipf, for instance.

For passwords that want a mix of alpha and numeric, find two or three numbers that you won't forget - your first house number, a sequence of numbers from your phone number, your DoB jumbled up (ddyy, yydd, yddy, etc), NI no jumbled up, staff number from work jumbled up, etc etc

Oh, and to those using Lastpass and other online solutions; what happens when lastpass's server is down, or they go into administration? How will you retrieve your passwords then?

I stick important information on colornote on my phone, but under innocuous names like "shopping list" or "todo". I have an unlock pattern set up on my phone and I know I can wipe it remotely if it's lost.

Yes, but I have an awful lot of (different) passwords.

Yes, but most online providers give you an option to change them.

    Why?

Would a hacker know or guess the title of your favourite song?

If you are going to write a password down in your phone, keep part of it (perhaps the numeric sequence) in your head, and write it down as "----"
  • I email my passwords to myself.

I put the passwords into silly sentences within the email.
    I'm not that way reclined

Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!

So you're suggesting using the same password for everything?
