When the snow comes, outside normal working hours, drive to your local trading estate and find an empty car park covered in snow and ice.TrickyWicky wrote: »In the real world how many people are bothered about doing stunts in an auto? - Most people are more bothered about the costs of running a car yet alone repairing one for stupidity.
Then play. At the very least lean how to control skids. This will give you confidence controlling skids and handling the car in icy conditions.
I wouldn't use stunt driving on the road, but knowing what a skid feels like and being able to control it without thinking has saved my bacon a few times.
Thinking about it in these days of 'elf 'n safety you do this at your own risk!

You do indeed do it at your own riskWhen the snow comes, outside normal working hours, drive to your local trading estate and find an empty car park covered in snow and ice.

Someone on a forum did exactly that in the empty Seaway carpark, Southend, and the CCTV operator directed a traffic cop to the scene whereby he was reported. It went to court and it didn't go well as I recall! There was a forum thread about it, and I paid particular attention because I often drive past that car park - it does indeed have CCTV and police are never far away.
Choose the empty car park wisely!0 -
