AOL Price Increase Help!

Hi,
Recieved an e-mail today telling me that my bill will jump from £14.99 to £25 from next month!!
I had noticed that they had put it up to £16.21 last month, without notice I may add and it will be £19.99 this month. Heavens knows what they are playing at but I am not happy. The service is slow and the internet patchy, certainly not worth the price increase.
Question - Does the price increases give me a chance to escape their clutches, as apparently I had signed myself up for another 18 months last August?? Had no idea I was on a contract, I just thought I was an AOL member!
Can't understand their terms and conditions! confused and would appreciate any help or tips!
Thanks!
BB

Any price increase above inflation allows you to cancel on the basis that the contract change is to your detriment-but you only have a limited period after notification to exercise this right, I think it's 14 days? You then give 30 days notice. But knowing TalkTalk, you'll have to push hard to get them to agree to void your contract without penalty.
I don't follow your price comments-How can it jump 'from £14.99' if it's already at £16.21?
You are always in a contract as long as you have the service. If out of minimum term (i.e. after another 18m in your case) you are on a 30 day rolling contract.
AOL UK is just a CPW brand, it has nothing to do with aol.com, they sold it in 2007.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    Hi Supatramp,
It's for unlimited internet, and I know £14.99 is expensive but I can't get the cheap offers in my area yet! :(
But I'm not tied to AOL anymore which means as soon as the offers are in my area, I can switch! :)

If you're out of contract with AOL and still have a BT landline then you can get their Level 3 internet and anytime calls deal for less than you're paying AOL just for internet.

I got in touch with BT they offered me a package for £40.60, the same as what im getting from AOL unlimited call, unlimited down loads plus internet so i kindly declined it is cheaper for me to stay with AOL as they offered me 3 months free saving nearly £60,

You don't have a BT landline? The real deal with BT is only available to existing customers.
