If you have not received the letter for a secondary school place - I would give them a ring if it's for a secondary place, as most of the letters have been received this morning.

Disaster.....phoned up the Education Dept at the Council and my letter went to the wrong address....they had the wrong number but correct street...Went and knocked on persons door (next door neighbour)who had my letter and explained what had happened.

She said that she did get my letter this morning and had phoned Lincolnshire council and they had asked her to send it back to them, she must be very efficient as she has already posted it back !!!!!!!! Ummmm !!!! you think she would have knocked on my door and checked first!! I have been in all day....argh!!

They will send me a new one but I will not receive it till late next week as admissions is closed for today and they need to re-verify my correct address!!

    This is driving me insane...lol...
    Sorry Guys...Just needed a rant...lol

Will1974 - what a !!!! -up, I'm so sorry, I really feel for you. I hope you get good news after all the stress!

Not too happy here, got third choice which was frankly the best of a bad bunch, but DD doesn't seem too bothered at least. She was a few points shy of the grammar, and too far away from the second choice. I was down at the second choice within an hour to put her name on the waiting list! Fingers crossed.

I just had to read this thread & ask, has anything changed since I went to the high school in approximately 1989? I can't remember having to have my parents apply, I went to the high school that took the kids from our primary school, we all did? Just curious & wd to all who got the choice they wanted!

Yes it has changed - previously there was no choice it was based on a 'feeder' system - I suppose the middle schools just sent a list up to the relevant high school s of the kids that would be transfering.
  • We got our 1st choice too, well actually our only choice as thats all i put on his form!
