Hi,
Similar to the OP - or even worse - I don't owe any outstanding money to the utility provider, still they may have send a subcontracted company around WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION - the guy left one card on one day, called the next, I had to go out immediately on that occasion and hence had to cut him off (I didn't even realise it was them as I didn't talk to him)- then he left a letter in the main hall with the "NOTICE OF INTENT TO APPLY FOR A WARRANT OF ENTRY" heading. On these grounds and without previous notification and attempts to arrange appointments I interpret this clearly as an act of harassment. What makes things even stranger are all the details that have emerged since contacting the energy supplier about it - as the letter left with me implied a safety inspection - which the energy supplier said they had already carried out themselves some time back and they only intended to carry out a load test (which the letter didn't imply).
Also the printed letter contained an 0800 number from the subcontractor which when calling turned out to be no longer in use and the guy just left his mobile number in hand writing on the notification... Currently waiting for the subcontractor to confirm the details of the reference number provided as they couldn't find any record of it in the first place... strange circumstances indeed...
Any suggestions re pursuing this further - both with the energy supplier & subcontractor are welcome (& the guy who may be or not acting on behalf of the subcontractor..)0 -
You are assuming the suppliers doesn't use their own engineers in which Rainbow is about a useful as one in the sky.
Even if they use their own engineers like BG, they all still have access to the GT system (rainbow)Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -

Gas or elec?
If gas, they do need to get in ever 2 years to perform a quick safety check.
In terms of subcontractor, its actually an appointed agent by the supplier. Contact them and tell them to contact their appointed agent to determine what its for. They should easily do that and explain it to you.
They wouldn't be doing a load test. Loading testing is for inaccurate metering and the letters for warrants would be coming from the supplier.
I think its a safety check.

It was meant for electric and SECUS (the subcontractor) used the wrong letter - still without prior notification and the way the SECUS employee acted it was harassment!0
