Raven I'm not sure why you think that the response will not be a standard reply, it is not an attack on you, look at it from the other side, you are in arrears of a good 12 months gas, and no sight of a prompt resolution, the company has 28 days to respond to the letter and in that time the court date will arrive. The 3 dates offered naturally should be before the 24th, so it would seem that you are trying to delay, I'm no JP but I'm sure someone in 'authority' is going to pick up on this. You must have some family or friends around who can occupy the property for the change to take place, that way you can ensure the meter change proceeds
Well of course they are going to be before the 24th! otherwise there would be no point in it would there?! i am going to suggest next mon, wed and fri. And no i dont really have anyone, my parents are dead and my friends have their own things going on with their lives etc plus when i have to go out on the school run so do my friends, so its awkward.Raven. :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0 -

The dates were not mentioned earlier, I suspect the children did not appear by magic
Yes I understand things can be hard, but by no way impossible.
Sadly I can see where the whole saga will end, hence why I post what is more likely rather than the things you may wish to read0 -

And yeah i understand what you are saying but i still dont think they gave me warning about the 3 appoinments, and especially as i am willing to have the meter fitted!Raven. :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0 -

They wont be liable for the consumers costs, the consumer however would be charged for the warrant application.
The warrants are for entry to (their) metering equipment, normaly when they take someone to court they will let you know the days in advance. The judge is likely to grant a warrant of entry on the grounds that if you fail to let them in they will jsut do it.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. I think you should register a complaint on the basis of:
- no GSOS payouts which are mandatory per Ofgem.
. You understand how it could have inconvenienced them but it cost them nothing for the visit as you stopped it going ahead and the fact you are trying to work with them
. You weren't told you only had 3 attempts so they have allowed you to be progressed to a warrant stage when you may have been able to avoid it
- the extra charges would be adverse in a debt case and put you further in the more
- you can save them the trouble of a warrant
- why won't y even tell you when by will come as this reduces their chances of easy access, increases costs unnecessarily and is unreasonable since they must book external agents in to come and give them notice
They may back down on a complaint as it mean someone more interested in service will look at it, instead of a collections bod (not all seem to be into service!)

Try emailing their CEO directly, I'm sure you'll get a response very quickly.

I cannot say if its worth you going to court but I do think that writing a letter that offers an appointment makes sense.
If you do decide to attend consider the possibility that you take a responsible friend who is less likely to be as intimidated by the situation as you appear to be to help you explain.
Also take any evidnce you have - for example appointment cards relating to the medical appointments.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -

I don't feel intimidated, just annoyed and think it is unnecessary they they have to do thins when i am willing to let them in as i keep on saying.
This is just going round in circles now, i have made a complaint i will write them a letter and post it tomorrow with the days i am free next week and i will keep a copy and take it with me. If they do get a warrant then there is nothing i can do but i will try and do what i can from them getting one.Raven. :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0 -
I think it has gone beyond the time when you can dictate dates. Let them know if they can get one as soon as possible that you will be there - no ifs or buts. This way they may be able to get one quickly. It may not be their Engineers so they should be given the opportunity (if they agree) to get a date for you.
You should also be asking the reason why the last appointment did not go ahead and compensation to be applied for if applicable.
Have you been paying them aince the first appointment was cancelled? This may change the way they look at your situation.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0
