npower warrant of entry, questions. ***UPDATE***

Oh, and they can't give you a date until they have the warrant. Then they have to book in the agents required and they should give you the ability to be there to prevent any need to force entry.
They should send you a letter since they would for other visits to aid in entry. Forced entry could incur locksmith charges.
So, without allowing you to be there, they would be intentionally adding to your debts.
There is always the chance you cant have a PPM so being onsite will be useful if this happens. Some meter positions are too high based on later regulation changes.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -

Well in the letter they sent me they said that they won't give any notice of when they call round and when i spoke to the woman on the phone she said thats was right and that they wont write to me to notify me of the date, it would be up to me to ring them and find out, which i think it really pants that they don't inform you:mad:Raven. :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0 -
Yes i always gave them notice and told them it was because i had childcare commitments etc, at no point did the man say that the third would be the final appointment, but no one turned up! So what do you think i should do? Do you think turning up will go in my favour and a warrant not be granted. I would feel happier going and even if they do get a warrant at least i would know when it would be carried out instead of having to ring npower to tell me, i really don't fancy someone turning up when i am not in!
I think you should register a complaint on the basis of:
- no GSOS payouts which are mandatory per Ofgem.
. You understand how it could have inconvenienced them but it cost them nothing for the visit as you stopped it going ahead and the fact you are trying to work with them
. You weren't told you only had 3 attempts so they have allowed you to be progressed to a warrant stage when you may have been able to avoid it
- the extra charges would be adverse in a debt case and put you further in the more
- you can save them the trouble of a warrant
- why won't y even tell you when by will come as this reduces their chances of easy access, increases costs unnecessarily and is unreasonable since they must book external agents in to come and give them notice

The minute a complaint is registered, the account will be under review. As long as the warrant hasnt already been applied for it should stop it.

british gas seem to apply for warrants of entry differently to npowers, as my manager or assistant manager go s along to the court with a list of warrants they require and the magistrate then signs them all after perusal i presume. They then go to the properties in one day along with locksmith if necessary and fit the prepays.
I am sure it would not be necessary to go through all the rigmarole and expense of a court appearance if you are happy to allow access at any time for your prepay to be fitted, Its not as if you ve actually refused point blank, you ve just rearranged a couple of appointments and then been in the bathroom when they knocked( they would nt just have politely rung the bell) They do give the door a hell of a knock though so it sounds as if you definitely was nt available on the day they came.You are saying they did nt even turn up at all, did they post any communcation to prove they had called ?0 -
