Not an ISA I know but Norwich & Peterborough's e-Family Regular Saver does not check whether you have children and pays 5%

Thanks, that's OK its not ISA as that will be maxed soon enough!

So I think actually that might have been on of the accounts I had seen, so even though they say you must have children as part of the conditions of the account, they don't check if you actually have children?

Do you know if you have to give any "children's details" e.g. name or birthday etc?

Well I opened mine and approved within a day and although I do have a child there was no questions asked. They say you can have only 1 e-family regular saver but they also have another a/c called the same without the e- that has to be opened by sending a form of which you can also only have one off. I am in the process of seeing whether you can have one of each.

Think the e- might be be good for you as you don't want it long term as it's still 4% after tax.

    Cheers

    Alan

EDIT Of course if you don't mind non ISA First Direct pay 6% on a regular saver, you need an FD current a/c but its easy and they are very helpful.

My worry here is about having conflicting data logged on whether I've got dependant children. I got spooked by the big bold text on the site about sharing data with fraud prevention agencies etc.

The only reference to children is in the blurb not the application which you complete, can't see that as fraud.

I posted this in another thread that would probably be more appropriate here.

Thanks, I'll check it out! Lazy question (sorry:)), but can you have both an e-regular saver and an e-family regular saver with them?

Well as I say in previous post they seem to state clearly that for each a/c you can only have one, it does not say about mixed accounts, but I am currently testing that one;)

Excellent thanks, well worth a try then! ;-)

Thanks, but I was 6 months ahead on that one, so I do have both but.....1st Direct Regular Saver: £1,950 @ 8% GROSS 1/10/14, nevertheless, many thanks.

Yes I have that too bit disappointed my next one (May) will only be 6% ;-(

Also M&S just did a good deal at 6% with their premier a/c with vouchers free coffees etc, think it might have finished now. Have opened my a/c but waiting now for saver a/c to open ;-)

    Cheers

I know I saw that last week online, and sent them secure message asking if this new rate drop affected my existing acc as I hadn't received any notification, they confirmed this was for new accounts only!
It's also a bit restrictive as you can only save £3600 a year @ a maximum of 300 p/m, although being able to make lower payments and make up for them in later months is amazing, I think they need to increase the monthly limit so we could eventually bank £40k for their top paying ISA :rotfl:
