Yeah, I have heard this a bunch of times. You could always try plentyoffish but it is free and is full of idiots. With online dating so common you would have thought people take it seriously but I have had several women who played me along totally even arranging dates only to not show and admit that it was all a bit of a laugh and never serious... argh!

    A/S/L? ;) :rotfl:

Does anyone remember the day that was a popular greeting between strangers?
Yeah I have heard of some good stories from pof but when you get the inboxs saying crude comments its kinda offputting i think my main problem being is most of my friends are all settled and they dont want to go out ..maybe grow old alone lol

I was one of those smug married people (think Bridget Jones's Diary) until last year but to be honest, I'd rather be single than in a relationship like that again. Internet dating was hard enough all those years ago without the added complication of people who could be looking an affair or just some alcohol fuelled laughs. I'd rather grow old alone and happy than married and miserable. That's not to say I've given up and there aren't good marriages out there, I'm just putting men on the back burner for a while.

I was married for a very long time and when my marriage broke up the dating game was all new to me again. At 35+ its not easy finding somewhere to meet someone again. I did try all those sites and in my experience there are idiots on all the sites as there is in real life. The paid for sites had some of the same idiots as the free ones and at times you do feel like giving up on them. I met some nice girls who I remained friends with and I met some eejits along the way too. However I soldiered on and after approximately 18 months I found a lovely lady who I really did gel with. I'm with her a year now and couldn't be happier so there is hope for us all.

Yes good aul Yahoo chat rooms!

As for the marriage, I appreciate the sentiment but honestly, I'm not sorry any more.

I think the harder you look for someone the less likely you are to meet someone. Maybe it's easier for me though as I said before, I have the kids for company but I could imagine if I didn't have them I'd be signing up to the dating sites knowing all my friends and married with kids.

Well given the previous quote and the fact I didn't marry one, I'd say I'd be lucky to find one :D

HRLR has started a gardening business apparently. Just clarifying that he won't be going near my lawns or verges ;) I may be single but I don't need a man that bad - could do with a better lawnmower though.

But don't forget a good fertiliser will give you a better lawn.
