    Re-reading I think you're right.

    Sorry Mr Magus!

Yes, people have been saying to call them, never recommended if it can be helped unless you can record the conversation.
However some people have been rude as is expected on here and BTW the OP did not say he defaulted, he said that they took the arranged payment twice.

What's rude in suggesting the OP makes a complaint rather than wittering on about complete rubbish like "suing them"?

I agree that suing is not a viable option and would only leave the OP even more in debt. We have to assume he came here for help so I would take it at face value, ask the questions needed to clarify the situation and then suggest a course of action. Some of the comments have been less than useful

I know three on the high street just down the road from here if that helps.

But you are being utterly ridiculous and need to get in to the real world.

    Ring Wonga and ask nicely.

Ok - not much more to add that's not been said, but.

    1. Grow up. If you're old enough to get credit, you're old enough to know how to behave.

    2. Call them, explain the mistake, and ask for a refund.

    3. Take responsibility for your own life.

Do people on here really have no idea how PDL's behave. They lend to people out of work, the add unlawful charges, yes they will take payments twice, they will take payments even when you have told them not to i.e removed CPA . Amazingly they will lie to you on the phone, hence you should always communicate in writing.
Wonga have been in trouble for their debt collection processes as have others

Finally we all make mistakes in our lives and all deserve a second chance, even murderers and rapists get a 2nd chance .
So please be kind and understanding to people and give good honest advice but don't expect one size fits all. With some people you need to dig a little deeper to get the accurate details so the correct cause of action can be followed.
From what I know, Wonga are unlikely to refund the money if there is an outstanding debt (even if the took it incorrectly ) and even less likely to make good any losses the OP suffered. That is why you need to follow the correct procedures from the start so you can at least register complaints with the FOS and OFT should you need to
  • Not being a !!!!!! or a troll or anything, been in the PDL situation myself but Wonga are open 24/7 for calls.

If I were you I would send it by email as a PDF attachment BUT cover up all parts that are not relevant so all they can see are their debits and the bank charges.
Just want to double check....are there two debits showing up on your account from Wonga.
You did not answer the questions I asked earlier

Not quite sure what I was thinking when i made that comment about budgeting so to magus I apologise.
  • You have been told.

Ring them they actually have decent customer service unless you are one of these people who have a loan with them and have no intention of paying it back or feel you shouldn't have to.

They generally will set up a re-payment plan and freeze interest. This is what they did for me and I kept in regular contact with them via e-mail afterwards as I found odd bits of work and made sporadic payments as long as you keep your end of the bargain with your repayment dates it will be fine.
