Yes you can sue Wonga, anyone can sue whoever they want. Whether they win or not is another matter.

If the transaction was debited twice in error then Wonga have to revert your financial position to what it was before the second incorrect debit.

Anything else would be goodwill gesture.
  • If you have a repayment plan they will take whatever is due on the date of each payment, I foolishly thought I would pay one of my payments off a day early I paid £50 and then the next day they took the agreed £50 as well, it just meant I paid my balance off quicker.

yeah, here it goes. being desperate... i took a 100 quid loan from wonga. i had little money when i was due so i extended it a day before, paid them 35 quid... and they said ill have to pay them 143 next month...10 pounds plus for the extension....
!!!!!, but it was all right.

the problem is that they took the money twice... they took it again 4 days later... went to the bank ..barclays .. they told me its nothing that they can do... and i got well beyond my overdraft limit ...ill pay a fine to the bank as well.

i ordered a replacement debit card for i was afraid of more mess-ups

my question is can i do anything about it , like sue them or make them give me something for all the pain caused ???

    well, can i ?

All that for £100, budgeting is called for.

Sue them? You haven't even made a formal complaint yet have you?

Seriously, how are you going to pay for lawyers?

Another PDL - Pay Day Lawyers maybe ;)

You, if Wonga are indeed in the wrong, have the right to be put back in the same position as before the incorrect transaction.

As I stated before, anything else is goodwill.

You need some funds for a lawyer, write them a letter of complaint or give money claim or whatever its called a go (think it costs £30)

    Ask them to refund you.

If they've made a genuine error they might give you an extra £20 or so. If they haven't, they won't.
anyone knows of some good lawyers that i can contact online
I know three on the high street just down the road from here if that helps.
... and that would take my case and maybe get me a few hundreds quid or even more ...
But you are being utterly ridiculous and need to get in to the real world.

    Ring Wonga and ask nicely.

Ok - not much more to add that's not been said, but.

    1. Grow up. If you're old enough to get credit, you're old enough to know how to behave.

    2. Call them, explain the mistake, and ask for a refund.

    3. Take responsibility for your own life.
