I think the reason that there are so many differing views that are so opposed to each other, is that none of us know the full story. We each read things differently, for example, I think a few posters think the father was a right scumbag to leave a sick woman and child, and move so far away. But we don't know (and I'm not saying this is the case!!) what kind of life he had with the mother! It could have been untenable and if he had stayed, she might have made his life a total misery, so maybe he had to get as far away as possible.
She could have been a right harridan and impossible to live with. That is the thing, we just don't know! And TBH, there is no need for us to know! At least some of us have come to the conclusion that it is in the best interests of the child to remain where they are without considering this aspect of the story. I have given my opinion on the basis that the relationship ended sometime during the pregnancy as was suggested by at least one poster. I'm not really sure when it did end as so many timescales have been bandied about, so I am a bit confused about that. I don't think it would be very important to a judge deciding the issue, so I have not considered it.IMO where he went wrong was not fighting harder at the beginning for custody, but what is done is done, but I don't buy into the "feeling" that a child has to stay with the mother every time. Neither do I. Men are just as capable, and in some cases better, than the mother. That's probably true, but unless there are serious issues which tip the balance very clearly in that direction, no judge will destabilse a child on the off-chance the father might provide better care. Even where there are problems, unless they are serious Social Services will tend to work to improve the situation where the children are, perhaps with the help of temporary care, rather than look to remove the child immediately. I believe that is primarily due to the inportance of maintaining stability in the child's life rather than for reasons of resources. Of course if the father can demonstrate that in the recent past he has been a more capable parent, or just that he has been in the role of primary carer, then again it is probably in the child's interest to live with their father, I would add not too far from the mother. If it's better for the child to go to his father, then that is what should happen. [/QUOTE]

OKay, my apologies for my mentioning it, it was wrong of me as indeed nothing you wrote implied it. It is just that your timescale and choices of words are so confusing, it makes it impossible to believe things as you've described them. This can only lead to readers trying to put all the information together themlseves and build their own storyline from it. It is your choice not to write it out clearly so there can be no more doubt.0 -
Where does it say that?? I can't see anywhere in the op's posts where she said she cannot walk!
Well if you did actually read the whole thread as I did you would of seen the link to her other thread stating she was on ESA as she could not walk but they deemed her fit for work but she is appealing!Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
This thread is ridiculous now, the OP has changed her story depending on how it makes her look and everyone else just seems to be arguing. At the end of the day if she thinks stealing another womans child is best for the child well she clearly does not have children, another lie.
OP how would your children feel if their dad moved hundreds of miles away then years later decided to take them away from you because of your inability to walk without pain? How would you feel for that matter?Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

I have read the whole thread, and I did see the link. What I didn't do is read the link, I went on to it, but found it was as I thought. A link to other threads are usually done to discredit the op in some way, or catch them out, which really serves no useful purpose. The memories of some folk never ceases to amaze me.0 -
I am a mother and if I could not look after my children as much as it would rip my heart out I would let them go to their father if that was the best thing for them.0
