    I'm back!!!!!

Weather wasn't too bad - it didn't rain all the time! We did get soaked when we went out for a walk on Tuesday but at least it stayed dry for when we were putting the tent up. Wednesday was occasional showers but nice in evening. Thursday was lovely and today we came home.

It was a lovely site and a lovely part of the world - and not too far from home. It's weird how you never really explore what's on your doorstep. We had a really relaxing time and it was just what I needed to recharge the batteries.

We were lucky in that both my Dad and OH's mum gave us some money. We used most of it when we were sheltering in a pub on Tuesday afternoon/evening - it paid for a few drinks and a nice meal.

Anyway, just trying to catch up with a few things so I will be back later.

    Bye for now!

    Have a good holiday Piggin!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you on the weather front

Thanks! As you may have seen from my other post, I think we were fairly lucky with the weather! We did quite a few walks anyway, which the weather didn't spoil.

Glad you feel recharged and that you had a good week.

Hopefully OH is recharged too and has lots of energy for job hunting!

    I hope so too!

I think he is about to have a nasty shock - I reminded him today that the Halifax bill needs paying on Friday. He said nothing but pulled a bit of face, which suggests to me that he does not have enough to pay it. If he thinks I am going to pay it then he is wrong - I can't anyway, I don't have the money. Not paying it is not an option (it is in my name!) so it will be up to him to find the money - whether by selling something, borrowing from his mum, earning it!

    Hi All

Today (like yesterday) I am having a very lazy day! Just pottering and getting a few jobs done in between MSE-ing and watching the Olympics.

Yesterday I managed to update my debt figures in my sig - not a lot different from last month, if I am honest! Mind you, now that I have taken the credit card off OH, next month should look a lot better.

As before I am going to do this update in bits because the laptop does have habit of cutting out at the most inconvenient moments - I think the fan is not working properly so it keeps overheating. It seems to behave itself a bit better if I perch it on a table rather than on a lap or arm of settee.

    Continued...

I had a very nice surprise just before we went camping on Tuesday. I got 2 letters from the solicitors who represented me when my marriage first broke up - dealing with the separation agreement and the legal stuff involved in transferring the mortgage on the house from joint names into my sole name. Both letters said more or less the same thing - during a periodic review of their client ledger they discovered they owed me money so I am now in position of 2 cheques, 1 for £14 and 1 for £60!:j :j :j Completely unexpected and it couldn't have come at a better time I can tell you! I think I will add this to my 'Make £10 a day in August Challenge' total.

    Continued...

I have decided to join in with the Make A Payment a Day Challenge - just a little extra payment everyday. What a fab idea and it feels so good to nibble away at the debts little by little. I have decided to split the extra payments between my Tesco credit card (to tie in with the Pay a Debt by Xmas 08 challenge) and the Egg card (to pay off the little bit on there that is my debt - camping, supplies for camping, new walking boots the other week when my old pair finally gave up the ghost).
