Ah, now you see, when I say "I", I obviously meant OH.......who is not working.......so is available at all post office opening hours......when he is not actively job hunting (oh, so most of the time then!!)

Weekend wasn't too bad - OH had been suitably chastened! I actually felt much better than I have for several weekends - just lately I have been completely exhausted at weekends and nothing has got done. I actually managed to get a few jobs done - and lots of books listed on Amazon.PigginSkint's debt free diary

Right, time for a proper update!
The weekend was quite an enjoyable one, when all’s said and done – for the first time in several weeks I wasn’t totally exhausted. I was a little weary at times yesterday but that was because of the lack of sleep on Saturday night. We had a late night – it was nearly 2am when we went to bed – and an early morning as OH had to be up at 6:30am because he was going to London for the day. This meant I had to be up at 6:30am as well (a) to make sure OH got up (b) to make sure he wouldn’t forget his sandwiches, and (c) to make him a flask of coffee (and a cup!) to take with him so that he wouldn’t waste money on buying coffee. I didn’t mind the early start (it was the same time as I get up in the week anyway) because I fully intended to go back to bed and get some more sleep once he had gone. I did go back to bed but I just couldn’t get back to sleep again – very annoying. I did try, but my brain was just buzzing so it was just not happening. I could have done with a little more than 4 hours sleep!
I had quite a productive weekend. I went into town on Saturday morning (really early for me – I don’t normally drag myself out of bed until about noon on a Saturday – I like to read) and bought a load of potatoes, plus some carrots and mushrooms, from the market. I also had a lucky find – a deluxe bean mix from Holland and Barratt for 1p. I also managed to list a load of books for sale on Amazon – up to about 120 now I think. I have still got 4 boxes full to go through.
Yesterday I did a load of cooking – some to freeze and some salads to provide me with lunches for the next few days. I also hoovered my bedroom floor – which is something that I haven’t done for a very long time. Our bedroom tends to be the dumping ground whenever we are trying to tidy other rooms, it gets left to last and 9 times out of 10 never gets done at all. I got a load of boxes and just cleared the floor by just dumping anything that was on the floor, under the bed, under the wardrobes, under the chest of drawers into these boxes. O.K. I have now got loads of boxes to sort through now but the carpet is clean and the whole room just looks and feels so much better.
Got to shoot now – I’ve been invited to a prize giving. If I get chance I’ll post again later.
Bye all!PigginSkint's debt free diary

Thanks! I am trying to get to a position where the bedroom is my haven, my sanctuary. I am afraid I am still a long way from that, but baby steps and all that!PigginSkint's debt free diary

Hi All
I am actually feeling very tired today – I think the weekend must be catching up with me. I managed to go to bed not-to-late last night (had about 7 hours sleep) so you would think I would be feeling better than I do. I think today will be a day of doing housekeeping-type jobs (filing etc) because I don’t think my brain will cope with much else!
Having said that, I have just started composing a Very Difficult Letter. I can’t go into details on here about exactly what it is, but let’s just say it is financial (nothing to do with OH – well, not really). This letter is something I need to do and will get into big trouble if I don’t do it, but I fear the repercussions of doing it – I hope the powers that be will be sympathetic to my plight. I suspect that this letter will go through many drafts before I am reasonably happy with it! Please everyone who reads this diary, keep your fingers crossed for me. If you are the praying sort, please pray for me – I think I could do with a few right now!
I managed to get rid of my last-but-one Avon delivery yesterday – one customer is on holiday so I suspect I won’t see that money for a while, but we shall see. This means I will be able to pay some money into my bank account today – hurrah!
I am forgetting the big news that happened yesterday. I have probably mentioned before (!) that there is one main credit card bill that OH is (should be!) responsible for paying. There have been a number of occasions when I have had to pay it because he didn’t have enough money but I told him that this month he would have to pay it because I simply wouldn’t be able to. I told him that it was up to him to find the money to pay it. If he didn’t I would be very angry. Anyway, yesterday he paid it! :j Thank goodness for that!
Anyway, not much else happening in the PigginSkint household at the moment so I can’t think of anything else to report.
Bye all!

Hi All
I was so exhausted yesterday that I didn’t get a thing done yesterday evening – apart from take DS’s stuff to him at his Dad’s and then cook the dinner.
I managed to get the much longed for and much needed early night – I was in bed by 9:30pm and asleep by 10:00pm.
OH was rehearsing for a play last night and arrived back just after 9pm – I was already in my pyjamas. He reminded me that he was due to do his duty day at the office today, which meant that I needed to do some sandwiches and coffee for him. I washed his flask out and then accidentally kicked the little stool in the kitchen (well, you would hardly do it on purpose!) and hurt my toes. I was bad tempered anyway because I was tired! Anyway OH said ‘I’ll make my sandwiches – you go to bed’. You could have knocked me down with a feather! He also took my pint glass off me and filled it up with water and brought it to me (I always take a pint of water to bed with me). Blimey! I ought to be kn**kered and bad tempered more often!
Feeling slightly better today, but still tired!
Today’s to-do list is as follows:- Collect Avon books in and get them ready to go back out again.
- Do more sorting through boxes of stuff in bedroom.
- Continue search for missing payslip (I may well find it when sorting through the stuff in the bedroom). If I don’t find it I shall just have to send the 2 that I have got plus my P60.
- Do more washing – you wouldn’t believe how much dirty washing I found when I mucked out the bedroom on Sunday (mostly OH’s I might add!)
- Do some surveys.
I think that’s enough to be going along with! Anyway, suppose I had better do some work now.

Hi All
Having read Weller’s news yesterday it rather puts all this into perspective doesn’t it? I can’t imagine what she is going through right now and I have to confess to having a bit of cry when I read the threads yesterday.
It is only money after all so I should try (hard I know) not to get quite so depressed about it all.
Anyway, onto the business of the day, I have gone through all the boxes in my bedroom and at least I know now that the missing payslip is not in there. I will search in my living room later (basket at the bottom of the stairs, expandable filing box which is the half-way house for all filing, filing cabinet, random collections of papers in other baskets and drawers) and if I can’t find it I shall just have to send the 2 that I have found plus my P60. It’s a bit of mystery where it has gone though! Tomorrow (I think) is 2 weeks since I had the letter from student loans so I will really need to hurry up and get my form and all the documents I can find (photocopies of) in the post sometime before Monday.
Last night I collected my Avon books in and got them ready to put back out again. I didn’t put them out last night – it was late and it looked like rain – but they all ready to do tonight. That reminds me I really must send an email to Avon – they sent me some incorrect products last time, some of them for the 2nd time!
OH was at his agency office all day yesterday and when he came back he virtually had to go straight back out again to collect Betterware books in and put new ones out for the deliveries he is doing today. This meant that the orders had to be bagged up so that he could put the prices on the little tickets to accompany the books so that people can have their money ready. Typically of course he hadn’t actually bagged them up yet so he had to do that first – will only take 5 minutes, he says, actually is was more like 30! When I asked him why he hadn’t done it yet, he said…wait for it…’I haven’t had time’. Honestly if he says that one more time I think I am going to scream. He had the delivery on Friday last week – surely he would have had some time to bag them up. He had been busy, he said – out all day yesterday, doing his day work with the old ladies, out all day on Sunday at a rehearsal. What about Saturday? He had to do books on Saturday. Not all day, I said (probably about 2 hours). Why is such a difficult concept to grasp?! I also pointed out that if he bagged up his orders soon after receiving his delivery (like I do) he would know quickly if something is missing and do something about it.
I suppose I find it deeply frustrating that he is nowhere near as organised as I am!
Anyway, I have decided I am going to get him to do a little exercise, which I think I will do as well just to make the point. I am going to see if I can find a weekly chart with all the hours of the day on (like an appointment diary) – I can always print of blank pages from Outlook Calendar if I can’t find anything else. Then I will get him to write down for each hour of the day (and it really needs to be 24 hours, not just office hours), what he actually does in that time. Hopefully this will make him realise how much time he actually has to do stuff and how much time he wastes. If I do the same this should make him realise how much I actually do – I have a lot less free time than he has so with any luck this should be something of a wake-up call.
Anyway, not much else report today – I will amend my previous post to show progress on yesterday’s to-do list. Here is today’s to-do list:- Search living room for missing payslip. Room searched, payslip not found!
- Gather all documents for student loans deferral form to photocopy at work tomorrow. Done - apart from missing payslip.
- Put Avon books back out and try to collect any that I couldn’t get back last night. Done!
- Do more washing. Done!
- Do some surveys. Not yet - will do soon!
- Free b*i*n*g*o! Doing now!
