LOL! If by emotional blackmail you meant guilt trips - yes, I find them very effective!!

Sexual blackmail? Hmmm I think I remember what that is!!

No news on the ad yet but there is some good news. OH has got an interview on 7th May for the PGCE course he applied to – woohoo!!!

He has got to complete a CRB form (he already has a CRB but it seems like he needs a new one) and they have told him he has to read 2 books – a Michael Morpurgo one and an Anne Fine one. He went to the library first (good MSE practice!) but nothing doing. I have suggested he try the charity shops while he is still in town and if still no joy to try Amazon as he might be able to get cheap copies from there. The Michael Morpurgo one might actually be lurking on DS but I am really not sure about that.

So at least one thing seems to be going in the right direction!

    Hi All

I am sooooo glad it’s Friday! What a week it has been!

I think something has really hit home with OH because I can’t get over the level of activity (and pro-activity) already this morning!

He needs to fish out all his certificates to take with him to his interview on 7th May. So today he plans to go in the loft to try to find his GSCE, BTEC certificates etc – his degree certificate is already downstairs. I suggested that he ought to try and get his certificate from the creative writing course we both did a few years ago. Now there is a very long tale about why he has not got the certificate so I will try to condense it. Basically because he changed addresses between the start and end of the course (because he moved in with me) and because of the college’s incompetence, his certificate was sent to the wrong address (twice!). I acted on his behalf to try and sort it out but it came to the point where he needed to follow it up in order to get it. That was 2 years ago! Anyway, this morning he has phoned them up. (It’s a good job I was sitting down when he told me). He ran up against the incompetence that we have already experienced and on the 3rd attempt at phoning them, he actually got someone to take the details and agree to pass the message on (this is what happened before!) and someone would get back to him on Monday. I told him that if noone phoned him on Monday he should phone them. His answer to that was that if noone phones him on Monday he will actually go down there. Blimey! What’s all this action?!

When OH was out doing my Avon for me the other day, he got collared by a Betterware bloke trying to recruit him. So OH got the bloke’s contact details and this morning has tried to phone him. He spoke to the bloke’s wife and to cut a long story short, the bloke will be phoning him this evening.

When I asked OH this morning what he would be doing today he told me about fishing out his certificates and then I asked him what else he would do today. His answer? ‘Some job hunting I suppose’! Blimey! What has come over him?!

OH also needs to arrange to spend a day in a school before his interview, so I am hoping he might do something about that today. Mind you, he is doing quite a lot already today!

Oh, one other thing I have remembered, he managed to find the 2 books he needed on Amazon – one was for 1p and the other for 75p, so the 2 together should only come to about £6. Hold on let me work this out: 1p + £2.75 + 75p + £2.75 = £6.26. Not bad!

I think that’s all I have to report at the moment. If there is any more (any more activity from OH) I will post again later.

    Bye all!

Oh yes, forgot about that! Review went fine but I have still got a bit of work to do for it - luckily I had already made quite a few notes. The review system they are currently using is a new one so everyone is still a little unsure about exactly what should be done, when and who by. Now I have discussed these issues (about capabilities to do my job) with my reviewer I have a much better idea what is required so I can get that done. Shouldn't take too long, especially when compared with the rest of the stuff I had to do.

I am going to be very busy next week (5th year exams) so I suspect the only chance I will get to do it (if I don't manage to do it today) will be on Tuesday.

I have to say though, I feel like a great weight has lifted from my shoulders now!

We have still not heard anything about the ad. It doesn't look too promising now, especially when you consider that the ad is due to be aired next Friday! Oh well!

Thanks! But I think it is unlikely that he will get the same territory. I did Betterware for a while myself some years ago and the area I had to cover was completely different. But in the unlikely event that he ends up with the same area as I cover, we will just have to work around that.

    Hi All

Well the latest news is that OH has been in touch with a school - he is just waiting for the appropriate member of staff to phone him back.

As I speak he is now in the loft!

Anyway, don't know whether I will get another chance later to update so hope everyone has a good weekend!

    Byeeeeeeee!

    Hi All

Well, the weekend has gone by in a flash again!

Haven’t got a lot of time to update now – I shall be having my lunch in a minute and then I am invigilating all afternoon.

Betterware chap came on Saturday afternoon and OH starts on Wednesday – woohoo!

I was very tired all weekend – and at my Dad’s most of yesterday – so didn’t get half the stuff done that I planned to. Not much chance of getting it done this week either – very busy week for me this week.

Pay Day tomorrow! Woohoo! And also Sainsbury’s delivery day tomorrow – must go online later to finish that so I may well stray back over to MSE afterwards.

    Bye for now!
