  • Oh oh oh oh oh oh!!! Ive just worked out who it is, been trying to think who it might be for the last hour!! lolx

I should have worked it out earlier really cus i think hes yummy!!!;) xxx

If you need an extra clue or confirmation that you got it right, by coincidence on Friday night when OH was in London talking to him, he was actually on the telly. (I forget which programme now - my brain has gone to mush!... no, hang on, it was something featuring videos from youtube or something like that!)

  • I know what you mean too about "man cleaning". When i am at work on a sat and it is my OHs day off it is his responsibility to do the housework and when i have returned from work its just about passable, but i know for a fact that he leaves it all to do in the last 20 mins before i come home as i have caught him out on a couple of occasions when i have returned half an hour early and nothing, and i mean NOTHING has been done!!! x When i do my housework it takes me 2 hours to do!!

mmmmm! That sounds really familiar! OH does his tidying up in the hour before I am due home! Or, even better, he is just starting it when I get home!

  • Hmmm! I don't think I like the red in my new signature - didn't notice it before but it is not helpful to my still achy head. Also not really my colour - I am more of a pink/purple/plum/burgundy kind of girl! Off to change it....

    Hi All

Not had time to do a proper update today as I have been soooooo busy!

The new Egg cards came through yesterday - that was quick! I activated them online last night and looked my internet banking for them this morning. Interesting how they have managed the move from one card number to another but allowing me to see all the same transactions together - they have done it as a sort of balance transfer. Weird!

I have had 2 new balance transfer deals come through the post in the last few days - 4.9% APR for 6 months for the Virgin card and 6.95% for life of balance on the Halifax card. Think I will use the latter to move some more from the Egg card, then perhaps put what's left onto the Virgin card - it all helps!

OH has been told today that he has got another audition next week - local this time, which helps! It is for a play so he needed to find a copy of the text to prepare. So guess what he did - he phoned Waterstones to see if they had a copy, but they didn't have it and couldn't get it in time so saving himself the expense of a trip into Birmingham. Anyway he managed to find one for a reasonable price on Amazon Marketplace and which he will receive within a couple of days - in time for his audition. I will make a moneysaver out of him yet!! :money:

Oops! Just seen the time - better go if I am going to catch my train home.

    Bye all!!

    Hi All

Well today is mine and OH’s anniversary – we have been together 5 years. It has certainly been an eventful 5 years but he is the best thing that has ever happened to me (together with having my son, of course). One of these days I will sort my divorce out so we can think about getting married!

I have made a decision about my divorce – once we get to the beginning of June it will be 5 years since the separation agreement was signed (although 6½ years since we split up) so I will be able to divorce him without his consent. I know it will cost more (I will have no justification for asking him to pay half the cost of the fee) but the thought of not having to ask his permission is a great plus in my eyes! And it is only just over 3 months away now so not that long really. That’s 3 months to get all the relevant documents together so as soon as the relevant date comes I can just send the petition to the court – this is an actual deadline to work towards rather than ‘oh, I will sort it out one day’!

Tomorrow is my birthday and I am meant to be bringing cakes to work (it is what everyone does) – I was going to make some but I am so tired and I have so much else to do tonight (Avon) that I think am going to go with the easier, if more expensive, option of buying some. I have spotted some nice ones at Aldi for not much money so I think I will get some from there.

Last night OH and I decided that we would do what we have been putting off for ages and we ordered some new bikes (regular readers might recall that ours got nicked just under a year ago). We have ordered them from the Littlewoods catalogue on 52 week terms, interest free. OH’s cost £139 and mine cost £99 (approx £18 per month in total) – we could have ordered some cheaper ones but decided that would be a false economy and in any case, there were some far more expensive ones as well which we ignored. We do not have a car and are unlikely to be able to buy one for some years yet so it makes sense to have bikes – it means we don’t have to rely on public transport and lifts all the time, we can go places, visit people. We have been feeling quite isolated really as we can’t just pop over to see relatives and friends. Also one of our favourite activities is going for a ride along the canal towpath on a summer afternoon and perhaps having a pint at one of the pubs that are right by the canal. It will also do us both good to get some more exercise (although we do walk a lot) and I think it will help my knee to recover if I started cycling again (strengthened the muscles that have been weakened by not cycling).

We got quite excited last night searching round different sites for accessories, as we lost all of them when our others got stolen with the bikes – gel saddles, pump, puncture repair kit, lights, panniers and also mudguards for mine as it won’t have any. I think we will probably have a look on ebay as well. Panniers will be a bit of an essential for me because one of the things I used to do quite often was to have a ride down to Sainsbury’s on a Sunday afternoon just before it closed to pick up cheap meat for OH and DS and other cheap stuff. I also used them for transporting bottles of water as refreshment!

Can you tell I am getting quite excited at the thought of having a bike again?!

We have decided to keep the bikes in the house at first, until we can clear enough room in one of the sheds for them – we don’t want to risk our brand new bikes getting nicked by keeping them in the garden covered with a tarpaulin, like the old ones were.

We have loads of stuff in both sheds that we can probably sell on ebay or in the local papers. Now that we have some more memory on the laptop we will actually be able to take photos of stuff we want to sell. That will be good for the de-cluttering and the debt-busting.

We are going to a wedding on Saturday – just the evening do. A part of me wishes that we weren’t going because I know it’s not going to be cheap. We have got to work out some way of getting there as the venue is about 10 miles away – I think I might look into getting public transport there and then getting a taxi back, you never know, we might actually manage a lift there if I talk to my brother or my Dad nicely! Then I need to get a present of some sort – I think I might get an Argos voucher. I know I have got some nectar points so hopefully that might help towards the cost. Then there will be drinks to buy as well. So all in all it will be quite a lot of expense. Having said that, it should be a good night – it is one of my work colleagues who is getting married so there will more of my colleagues there, so at least we should have plenty of people to talk to. Also it is so rare for us to go out that it will be a nice change!!

I think that’s all the news for now. Bye all!

  • Hi All

Well it’s my birthday today and I’m afraid to say that it has started on a bit of a downer – our telly packed up last night. It just lost all power while we were watching it. OH tried changing the fuse in the plug but that didn’t work. I have just checked my Littlewoods records to see how long we have had it – 18 months. So not covered by a 12 months warranty then! I suppose I will have to fish out all the documents, or rather, try to locate them! Then we will have to see how much it will cost to repair. Just what we don’t need!

I suppose if worse comes to worst then we will just have to have a swap around of tellys in the house. Our very kind neighbours gave us a telly just after Christmas (it was a spare that they had lurking) which we currently have in our bedroom. It is the same size as the one downstairs so we could move it downstairs, then move our little one back out of DS’s bedroom, then he can use his other one which he had for a Christmas present about 2 or 3 years ago and is currently lying dormant. So I suppose it is not a complete disaster but it is just very very annoying!!

Better do some work now I suppose – I so don’t want to be here today!

    Bye all!

Awwwwww Thanks! I shall enjoy a nice piece of cake, or 2 (or 3 or 4!). I have brought cakes in to work today but we are definitely thin on the ground here today so I have got loads to take back home. I shall also be making myself a birthday cake at some point - sponge cake with butter cream and raspberry jam, yum!

Thanks for the advice about the telly - I will certainly look into that.
