    Hi All

Bit of a first for me today – I have posted on another thread before I have posted on my own diary! Just posted on the Party Season Challenge thread as I have now decided what my weight loss goal is going to be. As my Weight Watchers 10% goal is 13 stone 4 pounds I have decided to try to do that before Christmas – this means I need to lose 21 pounds i.e. 1½ stones

I have been very tired over the weekend so I haven’t done everything I planned to do. I still haven’t sorted out my house insurance – I am going to try and have a go at that tonight. I am pretty sure I have got 30 days to cancel my existing policy so the situation is not desperate yet but I want to get it sorted as soon as possible – I did set it as my job for September and it is now October! My job for October will be to investigate swapping my gas and electric – definitely need to read the meter anyway as we have had estimated readings yet again!!

We went out for Chinese on Saturday evening and the food was gorgeous and plentiful. It was a buffet ( a very large one) and for £13 each it was ‘all you can eat’ . I did have plenty but I tried not to go mad because I am trying to lose weight. I did give the chocolate fountain a wide berth but I did have icecream!

I had a bit of sort out in my kitchen yesterday – long overdue! This started off as a sort out in my living room. I sorted through the contents of a chest of drawers and put old diaries and greeting cards that I want to keep in a ‘really useful box’ to go in the loft. This allowed me to move some stuff out of my sideboard and managed to empty 2 of the small plastic boxes in there which freed up half a shelf. This allowed me to move some stuff (my Denby serving dishes etc) from the top of my kitchen cupboards into the sideboard). This allowed me to move some other stuff onto the top of the kitchen cupboards which meant I had more space in a corner (and not very accessible) cupboard which meant I could organise it a bit better. Sorry for the ramble but the point is that this was a very money saving activity because if my cupboards are more organised we can put off having to fork out for a new kitchen (which is so not on the agenda at the moment!!) and it also reduces my stress levels because I can actually get at stuff I want so much more easily.

I think OH is finally learning some MSE/DFW lessons. I commented on the fact that OH has not used the credit card for quite a long time and thanked him for it and he said ‘I am trying not to’ – hurray! :j

OH finally tried to set up his internet banking on Friday (it’s a good job I was sitting down when he told me!) but it wouldn’t work for him so he phone the help line (shock horror!) and they are going to send him hard copy of the document through the post! Blimey! But it just goes to show that guilt trips can be very effective!!! :rotfl:

I took my library book back on Saturday and had to pay £2.40 in fines  – not very money saving at all but at least it was only one book. Imagine if I had got a few out that I had forgotten to take back!

On Saturday we managed to not spend a lot in town because I insisted on making a substantial lunch for us before we went out (well, I had a light lunch but I made sure OH and DS had a lot!) so that we wouldn’t get tempted to eat out once we were in town! However OH decided he wanted to have a coffee so we went to a coffee shop and then we went to see friends and ended up having another drink there – I think next time he wants to buy a drink in town I shall say let’s go and see so-and-so so we don’t have to buy one!!! :rotfl:

I have had my Child Benefit today which means I shall be getting 2 lots this month – woohoo! That’s reminded me that I am due a payout from Quidco which doesn’t appear to have gone in yet – I shall have to check up on that.

The other news is that I have sold another book through Amazon – for £10! Yippee!! :j This is one that I bought from a charity shop very cheaply – 5 or 6 for £1 or £1.20, I forget what it was exactly. I really must get round to listing some more.

As it is the first of the month I really need to update my signature. I will try to gather up the necessary information tonight so I can update it tomorrow.

I think that’s all for now but no doubt I will have forgotten something. I’m off in a minute to post my Amazon parcel. Will probably update again later.

    Bye for now!

    Hi All

What a day I have had! This is the first opportunity I have had to update.

Last night I got all my info together to update my spreadsheet and signature (see below) so I have been able to rethink targets. I didn’t have room to put in my current BIG target which is to get the total credit card debt to below £22,000 (again!) by 31/12/07. This might be a bit of a tall order but I am going to give it a go! I wish my total credit card debt was a bit lower but because of OH dragging his feet about sorting his internet banking out he hasn’t actually paid anything off the credit cards recently - that is not to say that nothing has been paid, but that he hasn’t paid anything! Also I have a feeling that there is balance transfer fee that hasn’t been paid yet – I will have to look into that one.

I didn’t get chance to sort out my house insurance last night but I did pull out all the relevant information from the pile of stuff in my basket at the bottom of the stairs (the ‘to-do pile’ if you like!) so it is all together.

I got my Avon returns ready last night and my delivery came this morning, so tonight’s job is to bag it all up ready to deliver. I shan’t be delivering tomorrow because I am going to be doing a course on Wednesday evenings for the next 10 weeks. Deliveries will have to be done on Thursday along with putting the books out. I shall get the books ready but OH will probably put them out for me – he usually does. I really must add up the total of my orders because I didn’t round to doing it before I placed the order online last week.

Anyway, just trying to finish some stuff so I can go home! Bye all!

Good luck with your target! I am sure you will exceed it with flying colours!

Hopefully your OH will become more and more supportive and then you will find things much easier no doubt.

    Hi All

Well I have updated on the Party Season Challenge thread but I haven’t updated my own diary yet. I think it goes to show what my mind is on at the moment…food!

I seem to be running out of room on my sig at the moment – I have had to take out my OD figure and LBM date at the moment to make way for my Party Season Challenge membership number. Anyway, to keep all the relevant info together my weight-loss challenge is to lose 1.5 stones by Christmas and the money part of that is that I have pledged that for every pound in weight I lose I will pay £5 extra off my Tesco credit card. This card is my lowest APR and smallest balance of my low APR LOB cards. It will be nice to see the balance dropping on that one.

Last night I did get round to bagging up my Avon deliveries and have half done my books – I stamped all of them with my name and address stamp and then prepared the order forms to go out. I just need to put everything together now and they are ready to go. I will probably be able to get OH to do that for me tomorrow.

OH is working today again so I asked him what he was planning to do about the Littlewoods bill that needs paying today. To his credit he did not say that he would do it tomorrow (far too late – even doing it today is pushing it a bit) so I suggested he gave me the cash so I can go and do it today so, bless his heart, he made a special trip to the cashpoint machine last night to get it. I think he is learning!

It was very quiet at home last night with both OH and DS missing (OH was at a rehearsal and DS was at his Dad’s) so I had my pick of the TV schedule! Hooray! Didn’t have to endure the fight over the remote control so that I could watch Holby City – hee hee!

I am feeling very tired today and I know it’s only going to get worse because I won’t get away very early today – I am starting a course tonight. Luckily I haven’t got to go far – it’s just downstairs from my office – but of course it means I can’t go home first. So I have brought my dinner with me which I will just blast in the microwave before I go down. I am not going to get home until after 10pm though – yawn!

I hope OH does some housework for me tomorrow. The house looks like a complete bombsite at the moment and I know I am not going to have time or even feel like tackling it before the weekend. Plus I hate trying and failing to get everything done on a weekend – I would quite like to use my weekends to relax!

    Hi Piggin!

If it's any help, I've had to edit my sig heavily to get everything in, but it did feel good have a clear out!

Hope the course goes ok, I hate getting home late. Although I could do with staying late today to get some work done and I can't as I have to pick my Mother up!

Oh well. Good luck again with the challenge, you'll be fine!

It can be really hard deciding what to keep and what to get rid of can't it? I hate having to delete stuff because I like to see those numbers dropping! My problem is that I really like my changes of colour!!!!:D
