There was a time, though, when I wore nothing but black!

I have to admit there has never been to much black in my wardrobe, I'm rather pale and it makes me look ill.... Or that I've gone all gothic!

I’ve just realised that I haven’t updated yet so I thought I had better get on and do it!

Didn’t get home until after 11pm last night. OH met me at the station but he was late getting there (he had done his waiting for me in the pub!) and then we were very slow walking back because I was tired and he was tipsy! I had been sensible and taken my dinner with me so that I could eat it before going to my course. OH had got back into town from work and instead of going home (which he would have had time to do) to have some dinner he decided to wait in town. So he had 3 pints of beer and no dinner! I tried to be angry with him but couldn’t quite manage it! :rotfl:

After last night’s late night, it would have been nice to have been able to have a bit of a lie-in this morning but there was no chance of that because I had to be here early to deal with some teaching that was happening this morning. But I am getting away early today because I have to go to a meeting at DS’s school. I am leaving a bit earlier than I need to so that I can go home and have a cup of tea first. I have got loads of flexi time banked so I can do this – woohoo!!!:j

Needless to say I did not finish getting my Avon books ready last night because when I got home I went straight to bed. So I need to do that when I get home and no doubt OH will put them out for me this evening. I also need to go out and do my deliveries – at least they are all ready to go.

Anyway, better get on and do some more work – I shall be leaving in under an hour. Yippee!!! :j

    Hi All

I can’t believe it’s Friday again – where has the week gone?! The best news today is that I have weighed myself this morning and I have lost 4 pounds since Tuesday last week. Woohoo!!! :j

Went to a review meeting at DS’s school yesterday afternoon. He is doing really well, I am glad to say. The purpose of the meeting was to set some small targets to put him on course for his big targets at the end of Year 9. So for Art he has to practice drawing at home but only things that he wants to draw, and for Food he has to practice getting his equipment ready at school and at home. I think I can help him with that one – hee hee!! So when he makes his scones on a Sunday afternoon, he has now got to get his own equipment and ingredients out, then put them away afterwards, instead of me doing it for him!

Managed to drag myself out to do my Avon deliveries last night – really didn’t feel like doing it as I was very very tired. Managed to get rid all except 2 or 3. Books didn’t get done because OH was rehearsing last night and he is working today. He has also now been collared to a favour for a friend tomorrow so he’ll be out all day. So I suppose I’ll have to do my books myself – I will do it tomorrow, I don’t do Fridays if I can possibly help it!

I am still very very tired today and found it very hard to get out of bed this morning so I was hour later getting to work than I normally am (thank goodness for flexi time). I doubt I will get away early today (as I usually do on a Friday) because I have actually got quite a lot to do today. Oh well, I will not be leaving late, that’s for sure. I will be on that 4pm train today!

I might actually get some jobs done tomorrow because OH won’t be around and neither will DS (at his Dad’s this weekend).

    Hi All

I can’t believe how late it is and I haven’t posted yet!

The moneysaving news is that I actually managed to get some work done over the weekend on my home insurance. I phoned Halifax and asked them what my rebuild cost was and they couldn’t tell me, just said that in the event of a claim they would cover the full rebuild cost whatever that would be – very helpful, I don’t think. I totted up what I thought my contents cover should be then used the calculator on the MSE Guru’s article and it came out at about double what I thought it was!! But they did give a breakdown of what it covered and the amounts and I kept saying ‘ooh I forgot about that…and that…and that!’ and realised that it was probably about right so I have gone with that amount. Then I used another calculator to work out my rebuild cost and it came out at the same value as my approximate market value – spooky! Anyway, I am sure it must be wrong if the rebuild value is supposed to be less than the market value, so at least it is something to go with. I would rather be overinsured than underinsured. Anyway, then I went through the link to the moneysupermarket site and entered all my details and the cheapest quote came out at £161 – about 1/3 of what my renewal cost is. Anyway, still need to do a few more things – confused.com is next, then the other sites mentioned in the article and then finally on to Quidco to see if it is worth doing that instead to get some cashback. I will try and do that tonight – at least the hard work is done now!

On the subject of Quidco, I have had a payment of £11 something go into my bank account today. :j

On the subject of my bank account, when I checked it today I had gone over my overdraft limit – oops! At least it only happened with the payments that went out today so as I have transferred some money from my savings account to cover it, it should be all right. I really need to pay my Avon money in – on Friday I couldn’t find my paying-in book and this morning I forgot. I must do it tomorrow – hopefully I should be able to get rid of my last delivery tonight so I can pay it all in.

OH was away all day on Saturday and on Friday I said that I would do a job for him on Saturday which I completely forgot to do. Doh!!!  I was supposed to take back the DVDs that he had rented to the library. So he will have to do it today and pay the fine which may well be a full week’s rental cost i.e. £6!! I was so angry with myself on Saturday night when I realised. I am afraid to confess that I rather took it out on OH and told him that in future if he is going to get DVDs from the library he can only have 1 at a time and not 3!

OH was a very good boy one day last week when he paid one credit card bill…on the day the bill arrived! It’s a good job I was sitting down when he told me!! :rotfl:

Anyway, better get some work done – I have got to leave in under an hour because I have got to go to the doctors.

    Bye all!

    Hi All

One very tired piggy reporting today – I seem to be constantly tired at the moment, don’t know why.

Had a late appointment at the doctors yesterday because I had run out of some of my medication. Some of it was ‘women’s medication’ if you know what I mean. Anyway, as usual, the doctor checked my blood pressure and it was slightly raised. Very strange as the one and only time that has happened before I was actually in labour! It is usually what my doctor calls ‘boringly normal’! Anyway I have got to go back in a month to have it checked again. I wonder if this is an indicator that I am stressed? Could be!

Didn’t have a lot of time to do anything yesterday as it was after 6pm when I got home. Had a bit of a collapse for 45 mins – absolutely essential in my opinion! Then at 7pm went out and did Avon (OH and DS helped). Then when I got home I did the dinner, unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher and wiped down the work surfaces. After dinner I finished loading the dishwasher, did DS’s lunch and helped him get his stuff ready for cooking tomorrow. Then I watched a little bit of telly and then went to bed! So the computer never even got switched on.

Tonight I hope to be home by 5pm. But I have got to try and get Avon books back that I was unable to get last night and I have to take DS’s stuff to him at his Dad’s. One other thing I must do tonight is transfer whatever photos are on the digital camera onto the laptop so I can return the camera to Argos – it is broken so I am hoping to get a replacement. I am hoping to be able to transfer them without too much hassle – it is the LCD screen that is broken so won’t be able to see any menus grrr!!! Tomorrow I will be staying at work late because of my course so my plan is to nip to Argos at about 5pm and then come back again.

Can’t wait to go home today – long soak in the bath and a very early night are in order for me today.

    Hi All

What a busy day I am having – it seems to be flying by! Good thing really considering how late I shall be here today!

Yet again I did not do all that I wanted to do last night. After going to Aldi on the way home, a quick collapse, then taking DS’s stuff to him at his Dad’s, then going out to do Avon, then cooking and eating dinner, then making my lunch and dinner for today it was time to have a bath and then go to bed! I was determined to get an early night last night and I actually managed it – I was in bed just after 10pm and, after watching a bit of Family Guy, asleep before 11pm. I really needed it yesterday and feel much better today.

I am not going to get anything done tonight as I am on my course and won’t back until late.

At lunchtime today I went out to try to find a birthday present for my brother so went into Waterstones on the campus. I found a book that I really really liked for myself and was very close to buying it (£9.99) but I was saved from myself by the fact that the shop was very crowded (I hate crowds and I am quite claustrophobic) so the thought of having to battle my way through all the people to pay for it did not appeal, so I put the book back on the shelf and left. I am really quite proud of myself, in an odd sort of way! :A

I was going to say that there was not much else to report but I have just remembered that there is! OH has got an audition in London tomorrow – I can’t say too much but it would definitely be a good career move if he got it!

Anyway, just drinking a nice cup of tea :coffee: (I remembered to bring some milk with me today so I can) and then I must get on with some work.

    Hi All

Another busy day for me today – roll on the weekend I say! At least I get to go home at normal time today so that’s not too bad.

OH managed to get a parcel from the sorting office for me yesterday (after the strike had finished) and it turned out to be the missing part of my Christmas box delivery from Ace. I can now pay the bill in full – wasn’t planning to do that until I had had everything. The minimum payment is £10 but I want to pay it off in full because the APR for payment in instalments is some student amount like 35% No way Jose!!!

The only problem is that they don’t accept payments made by electronic banking so I have got to phone them up to pay by debit card.

Anyway, not much else to report really so I’ll slope off now. Tara!!
