    Thanks Dawn and Sarah

I could understand them wanting to leave it alone if it didn't hurt so much! I also have a tiny shard of glass in another finger but it didn't hurt too much and it did settle down - but this is agony! Plus I have seen the xray which they took to (a) check its position (b) make sure there was only one piece. There is only one piece but relatively speaking it is long - and every time it is touched only stabs it a bit more. I am sure it is right up against nerves and god knows what else - the slightest move and my whole finger throbs!

    Hi All

I have another horrendously busy day at work. We ended up having to evacuate the building for half an hour today because the fire alarm went off, which threw out the whole of the rest of the day.

Shard is still in finger but I have a possible solution to attempt this evening - I will keep you posted.......

    Hi All

    Pay Day - woohoo!!:j

I have still got some January money left over, so I have managed to do some nice big extra payments today.

I currently have some magnesium sulphate paste under a plaster on my finger - apparently this is what the lab technicians here use to get shards out of their fingers (an occupational hazard for them I suppose). It is meant to suck the shard out. I shall know later when I take the plaster off - so here's hoping.

    Watch this space....

I know - to have money left over, especially as OH is not up to date with his weekly payments (1.5 weeks behind - just waiting for pay cheques & cash to come in) - not bad eh?!

And no, the paste didn't work - oh poo!:(

Managed to get an appointment at hand clinic today - for next Thursday morning. The best bit is, that my long awaited physio appt for my elbow has also come through....for Thursday morning! Typical! I shall have to reschedule physio.

Oh, and it also happens to be OH's 40th birthday on Thursday!

    Hi All

Another horrendously busy day today. Tomorrow is OH's 40th birthday and I still need to buy a few things. I need to do my Avon order tonight and tidy the house. Then tomorrow morning I finally have my hand clinic appointment about my finger!

    Must get on!

    Bye for now

    Hi All

To say that this week has been eventful would be putting it mildly! OH was 40 on Thursday and we had a few people over in the evening. I had my appointment at the hand clinic on Thursday morning and they have put me on the emergency list for an operation to remove the shard in my finger. I am just waiting for the phone call as I am likely to have the op on Monday or Tuesday. It can't come soon enough - I am in a lot of pain now. And last, but definitely not least, OH's uncle died of cancer yesterday (he was only diagnosed on Monday).
