No news yet this morning but I suppose no news is good news. I don't want to ring my SM too early as she might be asleep - I have no idea what time she would have got home last night.

DS is off school today - he has got a really bad headache. Apparently it is one of the side effects of having the swine flu jab, so I think that is probably all it is.

Our cat is not very well either - he has had diarrhoea on and off for about a week now. If he doesn't improve I will have to take him to the vets.

My washing machine is leaking - I will have to pull it out later to see if I can work out what's wrong with it. My next door neighbour is quite handy (he is a decorator) and in fact obtained said washing machine for us (someone was chucking it away) and plumbed it in for me - I am sure he can probably help.

    Life is certainly eventful!

OH didn't make it home this weekend as they were working till 6pm on Saturday, working today as well, and the Jublilee line was down over the weekend, plus a bus strike. He would have ended up coming back yesterday morning to go back again yesterday evening - not exactly worth it!

In more positive news, I am off to London again next week for the Press Night for Peter Pan at the O2. I have got a free ticket again - woohoo! Should be a good night. I think my youngest brother is probably coming with me to take the other free ticket - he has just got to O.K. his annual leave at work today.

I bought my coach tickets last night for London, managed to get funfares again so it was £3 each way so £6 total. Bargain!:money:

    Thanks Dawn

Went to see my Dad in hospital last night and he does look a lot better. Having said that he has oxygen through a mask constantly on tap and every now and then would have to put his mask back on. Also he is having a nebuliser every 2 hours.

He was actually quite jovial and has apparently been 'interviewing' the doctors and nurses so he is obviously feeling a lot better!

When I saw him last night he hadn't actually been asleep - so he had been awake for about 36 hours at that point. My poor SM had only had about 3 hours sleep herself as she had only got home about 6 o'clock yesterday morning. My Dad had basically been (a) unable to lie down because every time he did he coughed, and (b) scared to death and panicking (well who wouldn't be if they couldn't breathe) so my my SM couldn't leave him.

He is in the right place though - hopefully they will find out what the underlying cause is so that he gets the right treatment.

My DS was feeling better but this morning he phoned me as I was walking to the station to say that his headache had come back and he was feeling lightheaded again, so he has stayed at home again. My son is not a skiver (until recently he had gone about 5 or more years without a single day off school) so I know that if he says he feels ill, then he feels ill!

My lovely SM called in on DS yesterday afternoon to check he was O.K. and will do the same again today.

My next door neighbour is going to have a look at my washing machine for me - hope it's something he can fix.

Anyway, must really do some work!

    Bye all!

    Thanks Green

My SM phoned last night to give me an update - Dad is a bit better. He is coping with the gap between nebulisers better than he was.

My DS is still poorly. He is at his Dad's today and apparently he didn't sleep at all last night and felt quite sick.

My neighbour came round last night to have a look at my washing machine. The problem is the water inlet rather than the machine itself. He thinks he has got a new piece of hose in his shed or garage - if so he will come round tonight to replace it. In the meantime he has closed the tap on the inlet so at least it has stopped it leaking any more.

Nearly time to go home now so I had better scoot!

No more news yet about my Dad - I suppose no news is good news!

DS was apparently off school again today, though 'milking it' a bit now according to his Dad. No coincidence I suppose that he was supposed to have P.E. today!

Did my Avon order online last night - thank goodness that's out of the way. It was a biggie as well - over £400 worth of sales. From now on starts the annual round of shorter campaigns - i.e. the same amount of work in less time, so a bit of a nightmare! Oh well, the annual prune of my customer list is imminent so I should lose a few.

oops must go and catch train!

    Bye all

  • Morning All! Thank crunchie it's Friday!

Spoke to my SM last night - Dad is slowly improving. He is now having a nebuliser every 4 hours rather than every 2 and he is not needing to put his oxygen mask on as often as he did.

DS is still poorly - he is much better than he was but there didn't seem a lot of point making him go back to school today for just one day.

I spoke to my youngest brother last night - he is taking the other free ticket to go to Peter Pan Press Night at the O2 next week. He has got Thursday afternoon and the whole of Friday off. Like me he has got to work Thursday morning. I have suggested that he tries to find a hotel near to Euston so he can step off the train, check in and then go to the O2.

OH did suggest to me that I could go to Putney when my coach gets in to dump my bag before going to the O2. However talking it over last night he realises the sense of what I was trying to tell him - if my coach gets in at 16:20 and I need to be at the O2 by 19:00 there just isn't time to do that - so I will go straight to the O2, get changed there and leave my bag in OH's dressing room.

DB was talking about possibly finding a hotel in Putney, so he can travel back with me and OH afterwards, but if he is working Thursday morning I think it is unlikely he will have time to check in there before going to the O2. Hence why I am trying to persuade him to find somewhere close to Euston. He will be going by train rather than coach, so he might get into London earlier than me, but all the same!

Anyway, better do some work. I am hoping to leave work early this afternoon but I shall only manage that if I get through my to-do list!

    Bye all!

  • Hi All

Quick update! Dad's home now - I spoke to him earlier and he sounds much better. He has been diagnosed with COPD. Some of the people I work with know something about this (sometimes it is useful working in a medical school) so I shall be quizzing them next week!

DS has gone off to his Dad's for the weekend and he is much better now - he will be going back to school on Monday.

The plan for the weekend is as follows:

Saturday morning: Farmville and Christmas shopping (I forgot to mention - it's Pay Day today - woohoo!)
Saturday afternoon: Go and see my Dad
Saturday evening: More Farmville! Do some washing
Saturday night or Sunday morning: OH will return home for the weekend
    Sunday morning: Do some washing
Sunday afternoon: Prepare Avon books to go out, so they can go out on Monday, housework (usually in advert breaks while watching something good on telly!), more washing (mainly OH's)
Sunday evening: DS returns home, get stuff ready for the week
Monday morning: OH goes back to London - 1st performance on Tuesday

Anyway, off to make a cup of tea and then I'll go and watch some telly in bed.

    Night all!

  • Thanks Sarah - I love what you have as your location at the moment!

This morning I shall be going to TK Maxx because last weekend I saw some great things in there for DS for Christmas - but was rather constricted by the fact that DS was actually with me at the time!

Anyway, must go and deal with my farms and cafe - I am so close to the next level in Farmville I can almost touch it!

    Bye for now!
