Thanks both! I've just sneezed and scared the life out of the cat who was sitting on my lap at the time! He has escaped into the kitchen!

    Hi All

I am glad to say that I am feeling a lot better today - I no longer feel like someone has stomped on my chest! So back to work for me tomorrow - groan! Although I am sort of dreading it I will be glad that I can get back to the grind, because it minimises the backlog that would have happened if I had had to stay off longer.

I have been updating by spreadsheets today, being the first of the month, to update my totals and update my sig (almost...excel kept crashing so I have still got a little bit to do on my sig)

My total debt figure is now less than it was at the beginning of August, i.e. before I went on holiday. Not bad considering the recent strains on the old cashflow - hiring a car to go to London to bring OH back home and DS's recent birthday, etc. So I am really quite pleased!:j:j:j

I need to do a full update about this really, but suffice to say that I have finally been able to colour some more squares in! O.K., it's only another 3, but every little helps. Plus I fully expect the 1st December figures to be even better!

Anyway, still got a few jobs to do - lunches for tomorrow and I really must order my new Prescription Pre-Payment Certificate tonight as my current one runs out on Tuesday.

    Night all!

    Hi All

Just a quick post and run!

Work is a bit of a nightmare at the moment - I feel like I am slowly drowning! There is just so much that needs doing and not enough time to do it in! I have got loads of flexitime banked and the chances of actually using any of it are practically nil! So all I can do is try my best not to accumulate any more at the moment. Plus I am not sure about my new supervisor and the new girl in the office I just can't stand (pity I have to work with her really!)

Going home soon, I am glad to say. I must complete my Avon order tonight - I started doing it last night, but then my Sainsburys delivery arrived, which I then had to put away, and my laptop installed a mega-update which took aaaages! And I really needed a bath last night, so once I had done all my harvesting on my farms and served up all my food in my cafe (ahem! :o) there wasn't time to do much else!

This is OH's last week at home before he goes back to London. He has bought himself a reconditioned laptop today for £229 (quite a good spec so it was definitely a good buy :money:). As he said, he might as well do it now while he is earning more than he has ever done before! He can take advantage of the various places that have free wifi (including the O2 so I believe) to keep in touch with everyone, do some work etc.

Anyway, just a bit of finishing off to do and then I am going home! Bye all!

    Hi All

OH has gone back to London today - rehearsals start tomorrow for Peter Pan at the O2.

After much research (using the relevant article on here :money:) OH has got himself a good deal on mobile broadband (PAYG) so that can keep in touch while he is away - not just on the phone. He needs to be able to check his emails, in any case. He also yesterday managed to find a really good deal for a laptop bag, memory stick , optical mouse, a stack of CDRs and something else which escapes me at the moment - £24 for the lot. Sounds a lot but when we looked in the Argos catalogue, similar style bags started at about £40 - just for the bag!

Anyway, must go and check on my farm and then cook some dinner.

    Bye for now!

    Today's To-Do List:
    • I was going to Avon tonight but it looks pretty grim out there and not everything is ready, so instead I will get all the books ready to go out and them put them out either Friday or Saturday
    • Buy a few essential supplies from Aldi on the way home
    • Do free scratchcard and bananalotto
    • Unload, reload and run dishwasher
    • Load and run washing machine
    • Have a fight with the cat to get him to swallow his tablet - last one thank goodness (he has a fight-related abscess on his face!) - you can tell he's feeling better!
    • Harvest my crops, plant more seeds, serve and cook more virtual food (FB!)
    • Have a lovely soak in the bath
    • Have an early night (am very very tired!)
That'll do to be going on with!

    Bye all!

    Hi All

Life is definitely eventful at the moment! I have been over to my Dad's this afternoon to deliver my stepmother's birthday card and present and discovered my Dad fighting to breathe - he has had pneumonia for a while (on and off all year if truth be known) but I have never seen him this bad. I took one look at him and said to my SM that I thought he should be hospital. By the time I left about 2 hours later, he realised that not only should he go to hospital but that my first suggestion of calling an ambulance was a good one. I have left him in the very capable hands of my SM and she phoned me a little while ago to say that he was in hospital - best place for him in my opinion - and she hadn't seem him yet but she would give me an update as soon as she was able to. I am just waiting for her to phone me back. I was surprised that he hasn't had a chest x-ray yet - with any luck they will do that today. About time too! I think there must be something else going on and the sooner they find it out the better.

The rest of my news pales into my insignificance really - DS and I went to doctors yesterday to have our swine flu and seasonal flu jabs (we both have asthma so we are eligible).

Yesterday was quite an expensive day because DS and I both needed new footwear - I have bought myself new walking boots because I was fed up of walking around with wet feet (my insole - it has a lift because one leg is shorter than the other - is currently on the radiator drying out) and DS needed a new pair of school shoes because his other pair literally fell apart on Thursday. I managed to get a good pair of walking boots (Karrimor) for £35 from TKMaxx (reduced from £70) and I got DS a pair of Clarks shoes for £35 from Brantano - I decided to get a better brand for DS this time in the hope that they last a bit longer than 2 months this time! I could have done without the expense but at least I can be comforted by the fact that they were essential purchases!

Anyway, better go and cook some dinner and to hope my Dad is O.K.

    Bye all!

  • SM phoned about an hour ago to say that my Dad has been kept in hospital. They say he has got a chest infection (you don't say!) and they were just waiting to take him up to the ward. They had got him on oxygen but no antibiotics as yet - I suppose they would do it when they got him to the ward.
