Hi All
Still waiting for the phone call....hope it comes soon!
I'm fed up of the pain, fed of having to type, eat etc one handed, fed up full stop really! I've got no voice today either - I tend to lose my voice when I am stressed, anxious etc.PigginSkint's debt free diary

Hi All
Had my op today - this was my day:
05:00 alarm went off
05:30ish dragged myself out of bed
05:45 tea, toast and pint of water before...
06:00 nil by mouth
06:15 reset alarm and went back to sleep
08:00 alarm went off again
08:15 dragged myself out of bed again, washed and dressed
08:30 phoned work to make sure they got email i sent yesterday (had a voice today!)
09:25 left house
10:00 got on train
11:05 arrived at hospital (was due by 12:00)
11:30 - 13:45 prep, visits from nurse, anaesthetist and surgeon
14:20 taken down to theatre, op done under local anaesthetic to numb finger only, local anaesthetic = OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek:
15:00 op over - success - and into recovery
15:15 back on ward - arm elevated
15:30 cup of tea and biscuits - no other food as no veggie sarnies left and the yoghurt they brought me had gelatine in - humph! followed by brief snooze
16:00ish arm lowered and got up and allowed to dress
16:15 received discharge docs and meds
16:20 left to go home
16:45 on train
18:15 back home
so here i am at home, in pain but with good painkillers, big bandage strapping index finger to middle finger, arm in sling, strict instructions to keep elevated, dry and intact. STRICT INSTRUCTIONS NOT TO USE THIS HAND AT ALL. Clinic on Wednesday, when big bandage will be replaced with sticking plaster. Stitches out in 2 weeks time.
best bit = sicknote from my surgeon signing me off work for 2 weeks - woohoo!!!! Not sad about that at all!PigginSkint's debt free diary
